An Artistic Voyage: exploring local creative and artistic works

Raw, unfiltered creative expression – from stories and photographs to illustrations and paintings – is at the heart of VoyageATL.    In the coming weeks you’ll find in-depth conversations with many of the artists and creatives we’ve been introduced to lately, but below you’ll find a sneak peak of some of the art and artists that we’ve been most excited about recently.

I really like to paint faces, not for its beauty, but for its history behind. It is a link that I created with the person and we have a story behind, be it friendship, admiration, there is an interesting story behind. I used to go to a picture bank and look for a face and paint, you know, painting a model is not funny, I believe that grace is in the person's reaction to seeing the painting about itself. I guarantee it is a very good emotion, because people get emotional, they get euphoric, thankful, it's simply beautiful. I really do not understand why I do not focus my work on the style that is in the high to earn some money, I think I can not spend my life that way, while it is brave to do that is dumb too, for being very sincere: even though I get a lot better I do not believe in recognition so much, I think this is a spectacular stroke of luck to all those who oppose stealing a style that is fashionable. After all, what is art? (Steal ideas that are in trend?) What is it to be a professional artist? (Make a crazy face, wear funny clothes and paint pictures from 3 meters by 3 meters of something that nobody understands but at the same time does not have the courage to oppose it?) #oilpaint #fineart #artcurator #instart #artcurators
