#AtlantaCreatives: the local artists who inspire us

Through a mix of mediums, formats and perspectives local artists illuminate the unknown, color the previously black-and-white and add depth to our understanding of our surroundings, our lives, circumstances and more. Through our research process for the Thought provokers series we’ve come across so many works of art that have inspired us and we’d like to share some of those great examples of visual and performing arts, photography and other creative works with you below.

Millennial Healing Chronicles POST 1 • My Name is Ashley, I go by Ash. This is the first of many posts to follow of telling my story . This picture was taken a couple of years ago. It was the first of publicly stepping out on my journey. • Prior to taking this picture, I relocated from Lansing, MI (my hometown) to Atlanta, GA for grad school at Georgia State. • Life EVOLVED and quickly. I begin to look within. Love on myself and be unapologetically me. • This image was also the first of me walking in my truth. Healing, forgiving, learning, birthing my holistic health brand @belightfilled , a community created by my sister/ co-founder and I dedicated to sharing healing and preventative knowledge. • I shed some layers and made some major shifts. Some by desire , most by alignment. When you are elevating naturally what does not serve you must go. It was not comfortable, change mostly never is. ~See you all on my next post.✨
