Hard to explain

People always ask me if I sew a lot for my daughter; I don't. But I taught her how to sew: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" My reasons for teaching her were honestly more selfish than this (like, I don't love making Halloween costumes as much as I love making pretty&grown up dresses…) But I am excited for when she's older and tells me she has nothing to wear I can tell her "go make something" 😁So, on a mission to finish this bird costume I told her if you're wearing it, you're helping me make it. So we worked on it together yesterday. She cut and arranged the feathers on the right side to match the ones I did on the left 🐦🐤#fashiondesign #fashiondesigner #fashionatlanta #atlantafashion #costumedesign #costumemaker #kidswhosew #kidswhoareawesome #dressmaker #dressmaking #halloweencostume #sewingteacher

“Oftentimes, lumbar spine pain and hip tension correspond directly to high stress levels, lack of core stability, and the absence of deep breathing. In order to find physical relief and a deep state of relaxation, we must strengthen the abdominals and the muscle of the diaphragm. Core exercises paired with diaphragmatic breathing (big, slow belly breaths) are the most effective way establish a sense of equilibrium. It’s not easy – and it’s not supposed to be. But the physical challenge, the shaking and quivering of your muscles, will burn off stress so that your psoas can soften and release.” Core Strength Exercise for Hip Release & Relaxation by @mariaborghoff⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #grooveforward #onlinemagazine #tantrameditation #tantricreading #yogaforstrength #strengthbuilding #relaxation #hiprelease #holistichealth #atlantayoga #practiceyoga #dailymeditation #corestrength #atlyoga⠀

This weekend was so magical that I don’t even know where to start. I love acro festivals in general, but @acrohio is a truly special place. I met some amazing new people, reconnected with acro friends from other communities, taught cheer stunts with @acroavengers, and learned some really cool new skills. Being part of a growing local community has its ups and downs, but it’s weekends like this that reignite my passion for acrobatics. The acro community at large is filled with passionate, creative, supportive, genuine, unique individuals that I’m grateful to call my friends. Thank you for the best time!!! See you in D.C.!!! ❤️ . . . . . . #acro #acroyoga #acroyogafun #acrohio #community #acroteacher #bestweekend #labordayweekend #travellingyogi #handstand #handstandeverywhere #handstandeverydamnday #inversionjunkie #invertyoself #yoga #yogi #goodalepark #almostfamous #kindofabigdeal #smile #grateful

I was speaking to my son about doing something and he responded by saying “I don’t like doing that” and my response was “Sometimes you have to do things you don’t like to get the results you want”. He reluctantly went ahead and did his laundry. Texting friends, playing video games, watching movies are fun things but won’t help to make his clothes clean I thought to myself. As adults we go through, the same thing. I know it happens to me. I enjoy watching shows like Suits and The Crown, however I also know that I have work to do and it can be a distraction, so I devised a reward system. It works like this – If I get most of my work done on my to-do-list I get to watch one episode from my favorite show but not before. I get so excited when I earn it I feel as I’ve won the lottery. I’m trying to teach my sons the reward system. It’s not working too well. I’ll keep on them, it’s work in progress Maybe you don’t like exercising but know you need it to improve your health. Yoga 🧘‍♀️ is not my first love ❤️ but I’ll do it because of how it makes me feel. What’s something you don’t like that you need to do ? How do you make yourself do things you don’t want to do? Do you imagine the results ahead of time? Do you reward yourself in some way? Please share I’d like to learn 😊

Sometimes being a mom involves a lot of multitasking. Like sitting on the porch watching your older children play while the baby naps. Its easy to get lost in the tasks at hand. Don't forget to squeeze yourself in too. This week has been glorious. It's the first time in months that I've (successfully) been able to make alone time for me work along with being mom & wife. Last month, postpartum hit me hard. I have every reason to be happy (beautiful, healthy children, smart & hard working loving husband, our needs met) but in the last month I noticed a shift. As a counselor, I knew exactly what it meant. But sometimes it's hard to admit when you need help. It's hard for me to tell my husband that I need him more emotionally. I pride myself on having it together. But sometimes it's okay to not be okay. And when I finally told him what I was feeling, he supported me on a journey to healing. Last Sunday I spent 2 hours at Starbucks writing & 30 minutes wandering aimlessly around TJMAXX. Those moments were golden because my mind was free. I didn't have to care for anyone but me. So mama, stop feeling guilty about taking care of you. You can't be the best mama without caring for yourself first.

• You are not for everyone • . . The world is filled with people who, no matter what you do, will point blank not like you. But it is also filled with those who will love you fiercley. They are your people. You are not for everything and that’s OK. Talk to the people who can hear you. Don’t waste your precious time and gifts trying to convince them of your value, they won’t ever want what you’re selling. Don’t convince them to walk alongside you. You’ll be wasting both your time and theirs and will likely inflict unnecessary wounds, which will take precious time to heal. You are not for them and they are not for you; politely wave them on and continue along your way. Sharing your path with someone is a sacred gift; don’t cheapen it by rolling yours in the wrong direct. . Keep facing your true north. . -Rebecca Campbell @rebeccathoughts . • When I first heard this quote, it really resonated with me. So I thought I would share it! You will always have someone who hates you for no reason at all or maybe for plenty of reasons. Not everyone is meant to be in your life. Keep those who do care close ❤️. . . . . . . . . . . #atlanta #atlantamodels #atlantamodel #atlantalife #eastatlanta #mood #moody #fall #falloutfits #androgynous #androgynousfashion #fashion #androgynousmodel #wintervibez #WinterVibez #wintersvibez #collectivetrend #immaginory

IVE MISSED YOU MEGAFORMER!! . . The best way to describe a megaformer workout is “an athletic version of pilates.” It was first introduced 15 years ago by Sebastien Lagree, hence known as the Lagree Fitness method. It’s a full body workout that targets different muscle groups, combining endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility. The tempo is slow and controlled but the transitions are quick, unlike pilates. . . This is one of my favorite types of workouts—toning, non-invasive, addictive, and FUN (though sometime torturous😅). I love that @sculpthouse combines the megaformer and cardio on Woodway Curve trendmills🏃🏻‍♀️killing two birds with one sweaty workout! . . Have you tried a Megaformer workout or Pilates? What’s your fav?💖 #TeintIdole #contest #complimentary @lancomeofficial @Influenster
