#AtlantaCreatives: the local artists who inspire us

Through a mix of mediums, formats and perspectives local artists illuminate the unknown, color the previously black-and-white and add depth to our understanding of our surroundings, our lives, circumstances and more. Through our research process for the Thought provokers series we’ve come across so many works of art that have inspired us and we’d like to share some of those great examples of visual and performing arts, photography and other creative works with you below.

EARLY MORNING DJs!

Beautiful Fushimi-Inari shrine, built in the late 600s as a shrine to Inari, the rice god. Today companies donate money to each Torii (each individual archway) to bring them prosperity. Crossing through the Toriis was used to purify the soul. Also pictured is the Kinkakuji Temple, a golden temple located in the northern part of Kyoto city. . . . In other news, headed to the Edo post town of Magome to spend the night and wander about the 9km stretch of the Nakasendo trail (an Edo Period trail starting in Kyoto and heading through the mountains and post towns of Kiso Valley) to another preserved post town, Tsumago. Then we’re headed back to Tokyo (and actually meeting up with my dad since he’s there for work) before heading home for some Mexican food (FINALLY!!!!) . . . . . #backpackinglife #exploremore #travelmore #experiencelife #wanderlust #perspectivematters #optoutside #gooutside #wanderout #liveauthentic #vsco #exploretocreate #artofvisuals #letsgosomewhere #makestories #visualsoflife #peoplescreative #livefolk #igmasters #collectivelycreate #bevisuallyinspired #forgeyourownpath #femaletraveler #explorekyoto #suitcasemag #explorejapan #shotoniphone #flydeltajets #theartofslowliving
