Today we’d like to introduce you to Hope Trilly.
Hope, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I go by the name of Hope Trilly. I’m a New York native, from Queens. I’m 21 years old. I was raised by my father and older sisters following the passing of my mother. I learned to cope with the loss of my mom through my love for Hip Hop. I used to have freestyle ciphers with my older brother & cousins. By 2006 I was writing rhymes of my own. I performed my own music several times throughout high school at different events. A couple of years after I graduated high school I relocated to Atlanta to further pursue my music career. Since the move, I’ve released visuals, dropped an EP, entered the Atlanta battle rap scene, and was featured on Tv One on the Rickey Smiley For Real show.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I create authentic hip hop music. I can rap off of just about any instrumental. I describe my sound as a cross between New York & Atlanta styles. The message I would like for people to take from my music is that there’s always hope (no pun intended). I want people to feel motivated by my music to go after what they want to achieve no matter what. I also make music that can be dark, deeper, and more emotional. My artwork brings a different type of feeling to hip hop.
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
I would tell other artists to invest in their own equipment & learn to engineer their own recordings. Marketing and Branding yourself is everything in this industry. Never forget your love for music but remember it’s all still a business. The most important is to truly believe in yourself!
