Check Out Antawn Ross’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antawn Ross.

Hi Antawn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My born name is Antawn Ross but they call me Flow-90. I was born in Providence RI, but reside in Salisbury, MD. The Flow 90 rap name came to exisistent around the time I was living in new jersey. Mind you I was coming from a job interview rapping and that’s when I caught someone’s attention. That young man was samad savage he was like I like how you rap you got that 90s flow & the rest is history.

But it all started when I first heard the blueprint two gifts and the curse that’s when I fell in love with rap. I actually traded a water yoyo for the album while I was attending esek hopkins middle school. Jay Z was the first rapper I listened to growing up I mean can you blame me he is a goat in his own right & that’s what I pride myself on being the greatest or if not among them. But I grew older and adapt more I would listen to artists such as common, J Cole, Benny The Butcher, Jadakiss, Kendrick Lamar & so on and so forth. Currently, I just dropped my 4th studio album car drives currently on all platforms. I would say its a neo soul type vibe similar to a q tip and Erykah Badu who I am also a fan of. So currently im in promoting mode on all my socia media platforms. I havent performed quite yet but when the time is ready I will be ready.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I has been a bumpy road one minute your shooting videos in atlanta and los angeles then you back to just recording every now and then. The mainframe to start a team among your peers but the one track mind starts to take over. The lack of funds to perform in the cities where you are gonna get the most recognition from smh it sucks. But I know there is a silver lining in the clouds. This million-dollar talent can take care of me and my family.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I rap but I call myself an artist/songwriter it has more appeal to me not that rapper doesnt. I speacialize in write music that gives you a vibe, not a negative vibe a positive vibe sorta like a neo soul vibe at times I can give you a turn up party vibe. I am proud to be original and not a cosmic copy. I am proud to live my truths and rap truths. I wouldnt have it any other way. What set me apart from others is that I am original I tell no caps in my lyrics I rap my truths and thats what the games been missing.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see myself owning and running my own independant record label giving up and comig and artist like me a chance to live out there dreams until there heart gives out. But also performing all over world all over the globe. Starting my own clothing line donates to unprivilage communities but also giving back to my hometown Providence RI. Finacially secure to take care of my kids & my immediate family.
