Check Out Elvia Hill’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elvia Hill.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started acting and modeling about four years ago. Though I had been performing since I was a young kid, I never realized that I could actually pursue this field and it be fruitful.

I had an epiphany one day and googled how to start acting. I submitted to local agencies who signed me commercial at first then I continued to grow by taking acting classes. Eventually, from working local film projects, I was signed by an agency for TV/Film. I have learned so much since starting out in 2019 and I am so thankful for the journey I am on.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I don’t think it’s like that for anyone. You have to work hard and be extremely dedicated to your craft.

I’ve faced a lot of rejection and uncertainty. I am competing with thousands of actresses who are very talented and have many more years of experience. I’ve had to get out of my comfort zone which isn’t always easy. However, I have had some wonderful experiences and I make new friends each set I’m on. I also get to portray different characters and I get to tell amazing stories through this medium.

I love what I get to do and wouldn’t change it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an actress based in the Southeast. I am most known for my role as Maria in Season 5 of Netflix’s Cobra Kai.

I am most proud of my children and getting to show them that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams.

I believe everyone is different and unique and set apart for greater things. That being said, I love to have fun and joke around a lot. I’m the friend you go to when you need a good laugh.

What matters most to you?
God and family are the most important things to me. At the end of the day, having a family is a blessing and I don’t take that for granted. They support me and they love me no matter what.
