Community Highlights: Meet Tarsha Campbell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tarsha Campbell.

Hi Tarsha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you for the privilege to share. I’m always excited when I can do so, with hopes it will inspire and empower others! Please allow me first to introduce myself. My name is Tarsha Campbell. I’m an author of eight popular books and a book publisher. I also serve humanity as a certified empowerment coach and speaker. I love what I do!

As an entrepreneur, my story and journey started many years ago when my husband and I decided to have our first child. This of course, was all new to us, so we both decided we would sacrifice and live on one income so I could be a stay-at-home mom and give quality time and attention to our young daughter.

It was during this rewarding time, I decided to write and publish my first book. Even though at the time, I didn’t know much about book publishing and what it took to self-publish my first book, I set forth to make it happen! This was all new territory for me. My first career was far from what I was setting out to do. Matter-of-fact, I didn’t even know how to turn on the big clunky desktop computer we had at the time. Nor was I the greatest typist or knew much about graphic design and how to create a professional book layout…but I was all in and willing to test my new wings on this self-appointed project as a first-time author and publisher.

Once the book was finally published and distributed through my grass-roots efforts, doors started opening for me to share, teach and host workshops on the subject of my book. Soon after receiving requests to share and teach, I also started getting requests from others asking could I help them publish their books, and they were willing and happy to pay me for my services. It was at this point my husband said to me, “If you’re going to be serious about helping others professionally publish their books, you need to go learn more about this industry.” This little nudge from my husband was the catalyst that helped me move more deeply into book publishing and also graphic design. After some time, and with calculated discipline, I was armed with more knowledge, insight and courage to help others publish their books. I then launched my business DOMINIONHOUSE Publishing & Design, LLC., and the rest is history.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, my journey as an entrepreneur has been smooth. Of course, with most of what you do in life, there is the possibility you will face some struggles along the way. I can say I have experienced a few.

One of the greatest struggles for me was when I first started out was knowing what my time and offerings to my target audience was worth. Initially, I wondered if I was charging too much or too little. I also ruminated over whether I would be rejected by those I sought to serve. After a period of being in business for a few years and seeing what it took to deliver with excellence, plus what I brought to the table as it relates to my services and products, as well as my knowledge, and experience, these initial struggles are non-issues now. I’m comfortable with charging what I charge and don’t worry about rejection. It’s business and every person that comes your way may not be for you or you for them.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have two businesses. The first is DOMINIONHOUSE Publishing & Design, LLC, a publishing and graphic design firm dedicated to publishing with divine ingenuity and creative excellence. My second business is Tarsha Campbell Empowers, LLC, my speaking, coaching and consultancy firm exclusively designed to help others find and fulfill their life purpose, and launch their dreams. Through both these entities, I’m passionate about serving the vision and mission of emerging business leaders, entrepreneurs, aspiring authors, also non-profit and ministry leaders.

What sets me apart from other businesses like my businesses, is me! Each business leader should bring a unique flavor to what they serve by incorporating their unique giftings, talents, wisdom, skill set and experience to what they serve to meet the needs of their target audience. I call this unique offering of our gifts, talents, wisdom, skill set, etc., a “coat of many colors”, which I feel is given to each of us by our Divine Creator. Wearing this unique coat tailored for me is what sets me apart. I’m only good at being me and I strive to deliver the most knowledgeable and helpful version of myself to those I have been called to serve and help them advance in their journey and life.

One of my most valuable business and life assets has been my ability to “see.” Since I was a child I have had this innate ability to envision what could be. I’ve been able to “see it, before I see it”. I believe this is key to business success for every business owner. It’s through this power of vision as a creative and content creator, I’ve been able to create things that never existed before for my clients and for my own personal projects. Being able to see what could be through the power of vision is a wonderful thing! It’s because of the power of vision, I’ve been able to overcome challenges and develop solutions for those I serve in my businesses.

With that being said, this is one of the things I want people to know about me and my brands. Exceptional visionary insight, coupled with a passion for excellence, is paramount to delivering the best products and services to those we serve.

To assist with that, fresh from my “Coach in a Book Series™” I have authored a book called “My Next Step Vision Board Dream Journal & Planner®”. This empowerment resource was designed to help others develop and harness the power of vision in their own life. You can start using this unique journal planner anytime during the year because you are given space to write in your dates and personal journal entries based on the prompts in this resource. It was recently on the Amazon Best Seller’s Top 100 for three categories: Guided Journals, Personal Time Management and Journal Writing Self Help. The “My Next Step Vision Board Dream Journal & Planner®” is available on my website, Amazon and where books are sold.
