Today we’d like to introduce you to Teresa Caldwell.
Hi Teresa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always had a passion for fashion and interior design even as a child. I remember redesigning clothes to match whatever trend was in style at the time. I was able to really start living that dream by managing my son and styling him for videos, magazines and all appearances throughout his career. Having that opportunity opened up the fashion and design world for me to accomplish my goal of opening up my own boutique and write “I Once Was Her” a book about my life experiences.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, It has not been a smooth road. I was a single mother who raised my son by myself, I survived domestic violence then of course being female and black a lot of fashion doors didn’t open up for me. I was determined these obstacles would not break me but use them as more fuel to succeed.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My faith in GOD because he continues to give me the strength everyday to believe in myself and giving up is never an option.
