Conversations with Elijah Watts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elijah Watts.

Hi Elijah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Moved to Nashville, TN in 2019, joined a collective called The Lil Homies which enabled me to start recording and performing my music. We threw our own shows and events around the city. Then I embarked on a solo career, putting out my debut album “Boys Wear Pearls” in February of 2021. Since then, I have been on tour with my group of friends known as the “DADABASE” playing shows across the south while also working on new music, visuals and clothing as well.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
More than anything, the road has been exciting because I get to share all my wins with my friends and I get to share their wins as well.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a creator, I make whatever comes to my mind. Whether that be from music to visual to fashion I just love to take my imagination and make it come to life. The thing that I’m most proud of is my friends. They all do some pretty amazing shit. And just being around them keeps me constantly inspired and driven. I think the thing that sets me apart from others would be my work ethic as well as my self-trust. A lot of times us as creatives doubt our ideas and tend to look for other’s validation before we make a move or do something. But I think that I have found a certain system between myself and my friends that allows me to create freely without doubt and within that, you get the most authentic and genuine art from me.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Being personable.
