Daily Inspiration: Meet Phillianna Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Phillianna Green.

Hi Phillianna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music is everything to me, I honestly love music it’s like therapy for me, My family has always been in the music business from, having parties to having major dancehall artists featured and I also got the chance to meet a few artists. so basically I’ve been introduced to that industry from a young age, however, I started singing since around the age of 12. I wrote my first song in 2018 but I haven’t put it out as yet. In March of 2021 I met two guys and one of them was a young artist I started to develop a friendship with the two and we started to hanging out. the next time we linked they brung me to the studio where I voiced my first single “mi like”.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth? Lol, not at all it’s been challenging yes but we never give up that’s the motto, it’s hard being a female artist in the industry, I’ve had so many major producer/ artist connections that I could’ve used to learn more about my craft, to get guidance from, and getting through the gate but however they would always try to push for something more than a business relationship. I would like for it to always be on a business-friendly and respectful level but it’s all a part of the industry. So while I’ve made connections, I’ve lost some due to that fact.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Jamaican artist, that’s what I’m. known for. I am most proud of my accomplishments I’ve made since I started my career. The thing that sets me apart from others is that my sound is unique, I would always get told that.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Never give up, I know it’s kind of common to say that but never give up and always remember there might be minor setbacks for major comebacks. Anything you wish you knew when you were starting out? Not necessarily.
