Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Woodroffe.
Hi Alexis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As many of us entrepreneurs can attest, growing up “without” gives you a drive that is unmatched. Once you have a child of your own, that drive grows exponentially. Even with drive, we all have to start somewhere; for me, it was entering corporate America at the age of 21. I knew that opting out of finishing my four-year degree would come with obstacles. With that being said, I focusing on securing jobs that would give me the building blocks needed to be successful as an entrepreneur. I was not sure what business I wanted to start at the age of 21, but I knew through these experiences, I would be prepared when the time came.
On my journey through corporate America, I found my love for logistics, supply chain, and trucking. I would go to work every day, and every day would be different – a new challenge. I loved that! After seeing the growth potential in the industry, I knew it was for me. It was time to step out on a limb, take the building blocks that I had worked hard to perfect, and apply them to a business model. Through the process of starting our business, my partners and I decided we would not set limitations on our growth. We offer traditional logistical services, such as: brokering, SCM, dispatch etc. Aside from our traditional services, we also wanted to offer our experience and knowledge, this leads to the creation of our workshop and mentorship. We assist others through their journey of adding a recession-proof industry to their business portfolio. When the industry is valued at $800B, there is enough room for everyone at the table!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been anything but smooth, but worth every bump in the road. In both our personal lives and entrepreneurship, losses are inevitable. What determines success is what is done with the bumps in the road, do we take them, learn from them, and stay disciplined mentally? Or do we let one loss determine the outcome of the big picture? We have faced many bumps and struggles along the way. I would say our biggest obstacle would be setting up the backend operational needs. Having backend operations are imperative for success in any business, but logistics requires more operationally than other businesses. Getting operations set up was a lengthy process and delayed our launch a few times – which pushed our drive when the launch became a reality!

Freight Movers USA is a fully-scaled, third party logistics company. We offer both traditional and non-traditional logistical services! Specializing in brokering, dispatching, and supply chain management. Unlike some of our competitors, we service both the shipper and carrier aspect of the industry. We pride ourselves on our 24/7 customer service, dedication to our clients, and providing transparency in an industry where it is uncommon.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I played soccer, my life was consumed with SELECT practice, school practice, or camp for most of my younger years. At 16, I started working at a sneaker store at the mall in my free time from soccer. During this time, I found my love for not only sneakers but selling. Selling became of interest, I became infatuated with selling, perfecting my pitch and helping others through the selling based on their needs!
