Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianca Johnson.
Hi Brianca, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been working in Digital in one way or another since I was about 16. In 2018 I quit my job as a compliance specialist in St. Louis, MO and moved across the country to Atlanta, where I became the Digital Director for the 2018 coordinated campaign to elect Stacey Abrams and Democrats across Georgia. At the end of that race, I went on to work as the Digital Director for a senate race and then for a national profit. In July of 2020, I quit my job and went full-time in my business, Brianca Johnson & Co. where I help solopreneurs leverage their expertise to profitably launch an offer they love. Six months after going full time I generated over six figures in revenue in my business and helped my top 6 clients make over $260,000.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not. When I quit my job, I quit three months before my goal quit date because I was so unhappy and depressed. I hadn’t saved as much as I needed to “live comfortably” during my transition so I actually lived off my savings for a while and kind of just hustled to build my business. I suffered a lot from imposter syndrome. I made some poor investments with my business and there was a steep learning curve. Also, just from 2018 to now it’s been a lot of betting on myself and trusting myself. Even with the decision to quit my job in the middle of a global pandemic and being worried about failing or making enough money. It’s been probably one of the most challenging times of my life outside of moving across the country in 11 days.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We help solopreneurs pivot from careers they hate to offers they love using proven launch and marketing strategies. We’re different from other marketing and launch companies because we take a lot of strategies from my time as a Digital Director and building out full, comprehensive marketing campaigns versus rinse and repeat strategies from online marketing gurus and YouTube videos.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
My favorite part about Atlanta is the culture. I genuinely feel like you can do anything here and I know for me I found myself here. Between places like the Gathering Spot who welcomed me into a community of excellence and friendship to pride parades and some of the best restaurants I just love it. My least favorite is the traffic. Yikes.
