Exploring Life & Business with Jaylen Brown of Stretch Express

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaylen Brown.

Hi Jaylen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was a mobility specialist with Restore Hyper Wellness. We offered plenty of services for preventative health from IV’s to a sauna to hyperbaric oxygen to cryotherapy and stretch. Being an athlete it was a great place to work even though I didn’t use the services as often as I should’ve. Essentially what happened was the company made the decision to do away with stretch due to lack of revenue being generated from the service. From there I applied to jobs as I am now but I brainstormed and with the help of my amazing coworkers, I decided to take stretching mobile and create “Stretch Express”.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s definitely been a struggle. When I came up with the idea, I couldn’t fully capitalize on it because I took a trip to Hawaii for three weeks. Then I needed to find a way to promote it, a logo, hours, a way to allow people to book the appointments, what’s a fair price for my services, etc. Even now I struggle with consistency regarding posting about it, what to post, what could I do to reach more people and volume in clients. As of now, it’s very sporadic and that’s fine because I can’t say I necessarily envisioned this to be big. I’m grateful for the people that have booked with me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Stretch Express?
“Stretch Express” is here to provide a relaxing stretching experience. You can be someone who workouts 5x a week or someone who just feels tense from everyday stress.

I feel as though my clients from Restore and Stretch Express would say I do a great job of being punctual, having a good conversation during our sessions and how good the music is/keeping a relaxing space. I’ve gotten compliments on my playlist that I’ve made specifically for when I stretch.

I’m most proud of the fact that I stepped out on faith and actually did something instead of talking about doing it. I can be a perfectionist and that causes me to be timid when trying something if I don’t know how successful it’ll be. This was definitely one of those moments. And like I said before, I’m not looking for this to be a multi-million dollar thing, I’d love it if it becomes that of course but I think I’m just glad to have this and be able to help people feel better.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Making people laugh, making people feel understood, making people feel like they can be themselves with me. Just having a good time and forgetting about what’s going on in your life and not worrying about the things that cause stress.
