Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Clifton.
Hi Rachel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As a child, I was always interested in Makeup. My original dream was to become a makeup artist. My love for makeup fueled a passion for skincare because I realized good skin and good makeup were congruous with one another.
After graduating high school, I attended the Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics and Studio Crush School of Makeup. After working at a few places, I found my love for the medical aesthetic field and realized I wanted to specialize in skin rejuvenation. After some soul searching, I decided to open my own boutique practice, where I could focus on the skincare and treatments that I am most passionate about as I believe they deliver the best results for my patients. I worked with my good friend, Bex, who helped me get organized. Together, we developed Buckhead Skincare into what it is today.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The largest challenge thus far has been developing a small business that relies on human contact in the midst of a pandemic. Covid-19 has brought many challenges to my industry and has forced us to rethink how we interact with our patients. I have always believed that the cornerstone to success in skincare is what a patient does at home. Before the pandemic, virtual patient interaction seemed unrealistic. How could I properly address a patient’s skin without seeing them in person? We developed a protocol to perform virtual consultations and access a patient’s skin concerns without the need for face-to-face contact. Although in-office appointments are preferred, I have now developed virtual relationships with patients across multiple states. This has given me the opportunity to provide meaningful results to patients who otherwise I would not have the opportunity to work with.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Buckhead Skincare?
Buckhead Skincare is located inside of H Fitness, a personal training studio. Although we are separate industries, we share a unified set of goals to improve the health and wellness of our patrons. Together we are a duo that provides our clients the opportunity to put their most confident, best self forward.
I consult and partner with my patients to provide personalized treatment plans to meet their goals. A lot of the time, patients come to me and they don’t really know what they are looking for; all they know is that they would like the appearance of their skin to improve. It is my job to access their skin and discuss treatment options. Examples of some concerns are sun damage, aging, acne, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, age spots, melasma, dull skin, and scarring. It is not uncommon for patients to have multiple concerns. I work with men and women of all ages.
I specialize in result-oriented skin and hair rejuvenation services. I am most known for my level of individualized service and for effectively targeting patients’ concerns. My practice takes a wholistic approach to meeting goals by incorporating education, lifestyle changes, home care products, and treatments. My goal is to optimize patient results and maintain them long-term.
I am most proud of the individualized service and long-term relationships that I build with my patients. We are a no BS brand that focuses on long-term skin health. I want readers to know that Buckhead Skincare is not a relaxing spa day destination. We are here for patients that mean business and want to make actual progress on their skin health.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Patients can work with me by scheduling a 30-minute complimentary consultation that is available both in-person and virtually. I am always looking to collaborate with likeminded businesses such as spray tanning studios, hair salons, dermatologists, and other entrepreneurs.
