We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No smooth ride along the way, a lot of hard work and determination. I lost my mother three days after having my daughter in 1999. I then lost my Husband in 2001 tragically to murder, around the same time I started having dreams of pregnant women and babies. I was very grief-stricken and suffering from sleep deprivation, heartbreak and stress. I had become a single mother with children. The dreams become so vivid and real that I thought I was having a breakdown. I spoke to my midwife about what was happening to me and she told me that I had a “Calling” and to just talk to GOD for what that means for me. I waited to process that info and then began to ask what does that mean. I got my answer one night and then my journey and path to Midwifery began. My whole world opened when I accepted my path. my journey was happy, sometimes sad, sometimes disappointing, sometimes scary but in the end, I would not trade my experiences and my journey. I’ve got awesome support from my community, my Elder Midwives, my sister friends and most of all my family.

Birth is the Essence of Evolution
The Gift of a sacred birth fosters peace in our babies, ourselves, our community, and our planet.

We provide and support all Families, all racial and ethnicity, religions, and different cultural beliefs. LGBTQ, Teens, VBAC, First-time Mothers, Single Mothers, Partners or any birthing family experience that is your choice. Returning birth back to families bringing forth life with dignity and grace will allow birth to evolve freely, and gracefully, to its natural conclusion. In doing so each of us- mother, father, baby, midwife and doula unfolds as a more whole and loving family unit. The privilege to attend women and families in birth requires commitment and dedication to a lifestyle that embraces a desire to pursue the sacred, generous, compassion, noble, loving, and honorable practice. The continuous and respectful traditional ways of the Granny Midwives to serve families, remembering their ways that served families for centuries, comes the ability to practice Midwifery with an appropriate balance of intuition and skills, medical knowledge, and training.

From this perspective, all else flows.

My path is truly a blessed journey.

I am honored to be with beautiful families that trust me in their homes and lives. I am forever grateful.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I’m not the same midwife I was 20 years ago nor 10 years ago or even last month. As women ad birth changes I change, I learn, I grow and evolve into what beings are entering the world now.
