Hidden Gems: Meet Theo Alexander of The Social Club

Today we’d like to introduce you to Theo Alexander.

Hi Theo, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Appreciate the interview, Voyage!

I want to start by introducing The Social Club. The Social Club is a community designed with the purpose of celebrating & connecting emerging men and women in Atlanta who are looking to have fun beyond the nightclub. If you enjoy dancing or conversing with others while simultaneously growing your social and professional networks- The Social Club is for you.

I started The Social Club alongside three of my brothers: JaBari Holland, Christian Howard & Chris Clip. While in college (Morehouse College), we started throwing house parties together to give people an alternative experience to the nightclub.

After graduating from Morehouse in 2017, I returned to Atlanta in 2019, noticing quickly that the nightclubs heavily dominated the post-graduate social scene.

Summer 2019, we threw our first Social Club rooftop party- once again providing an alternative space for people to come together. The rest is history.

Community. Elevation. Expression.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s all relative. Of course, along anyone’s entrepreneurial journey, there will be some adversity.

For the most part, however, things have been smooth. When you prioritize the work and surround yourself with a strong team who are invested in the vision, problems become a lot more manageable to handle.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Social Club?
The most gratifying part about running The Social Club is the impact that we get to have on people. We offer a space for people to reconnect with old friends, and meet new friends… we even have some people that are dating or married after meeting at our parties.

We’re able to create a welcoming atmosphere built on a foundation of great energy and quality service.

Creating an experience that people enjoy and tell their friends about makes it all worth it.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The biggest advice I have is to execute on your ideas. I believe everyone has amazing ideas, and everyone has a superpower here on earth.

The difference is some people execute on the visions they receive- and relentlessly pursue those dreams and aspirations until they become reality.

And some people, for a variety of reasons, never do.

So whatever it is you feel you are called to do, go at it 100%.

All of us have a role in making this world a better place.
