Life and Work with London Elixir

Today we’d like to introduce you to London Elixir.

London, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m originally from Columbus, Ohio. I was first introduced to music production in high school. I knew back then that I wanted to be a music producer. I took a circular route though because I ended up going to The Ohio State University for computer science and engineering. They did not offer music production as a major but they did give me a full ride. I figured if I couldn’t study want I wanted to initially, I was going to study something that would make me enough money to fund music school later. After graduating, I had a well-paying job as a software engineer and used that to pay for music production school. A year later, I moved to Atlanta to be around the music scene and the rest is history. I’ve been able to make a lot of great connections and work with many talented artists. I recently released my new EP “Listen to M3” to all digital streaming platforms where I fully produced the project and hand-selected artists to go over my production. This sound fits my personality so well and I am extremely proud of it.

Has it been a smooth road?
Being a woman in a male-dominated industry comes with struggles. Mainly, there’s more of a need to prove yourself to people. Sometimes, men will try to take advantage of women as well. I would suggest that women be mindful of the energy they allow to influence them. Surround yourself with people who will build you up.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The London Elixir Company – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a full-time music producer. I specialize in custom instrumental creation but I also have a background in piano and engineering. I create music for all types of genres including but not limited to pop, r&b, trap, funk, holiday, hip hop, etc. I’ve worked with a range of artists like Silento, Ms. Jade, Dashca Polanco, That Girl Lay Lay and more. I also create music for commercials, TV and Film.

I am most known for my “Listen to M3” EP – available now on all streaming sites. I am extremely proud of this project because it shows my growth as a producer and represents a point in my life where I finally discovered my sound.

People love working with me because I have a very positive personality. I make sure every one of my clients receives a sound they can be proud of. I work well with new artists who have never released music before because I help them understand the entire process from creating the song to distributing it and even getting registered with a performing rights organization.

Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
I don’t think we have enough females in higher positions yet. We need more women at the top to help pull the up and coming women to the top as well. Additionally, I think we need more men who are willing to share their knowledge with the rising women in the industry.
