Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Bradley. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Baltimore native, Mike Bradley, grew up the eldest of three brothers in a close knit family structure with his dedicated parents there guide them along the way. As a child, Mike played many sports and was a respected athlete in his neighborhood and at his alma mater. He amassed his entrepreneurial spirit from his mother, a 30-year salon owner, and his father, who often worked two jobs at a time to supply the family with everything that they needed. All of these factors have led to Mike’s strong work ethic and competitive nature. After high school, he added college and then enlisted in the US Army, where grasped the importance of service to others and strong team dynamics.
These key inputs led to one major output that Mike was destined to be a successful business owner. Prior to moving to Atlanta, Georgia, he owned a photography business in Reisterstown Mall. Growing up the son of a salon owner in Baltimore, it seemed his destiny that he would eventually transition into an exciting career within the beauty industry.
Twenty years and counting, Mr. Bradley has proudly served as a Master Product Distributor in parts of South Carolina, Maryland, Michigan, and within his home state of Georgia and is also known as a magazine publisher. In 2014, he launched Bradley Brothers Entertainment (BBE) to offer a platform to the multitude of artists in Atlanta, who otherwise would not have an outlet to showcase their work and brand their products. BBE showcases typically involve a variety of creative arts, i.e., beauty, fashion, visual arts, dance, painting, vocal arts, to name a few.
Today, he continues to be an accredited, accomplished, and well-respected professional in the beauty industry, serving many salons, stylists, barbers, and everyday consumers with the latest professional products (Natural and chemically based), styling tools (flat irons, curling wands, etc.), and his renowned premium virgin hair that the beauty industry has to offer. What’s more, he will be releasing a new beauty and lifestyle publication soon. Stay tuned!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is never easy because it takes focus, consistency, and fortitude. You soon find who is truly in your corner and wants to see you win and those who oppose your success. I have fallen prey to trusting and believing in the wrong people. I have been guilty of following the mentorship of those not sincere about my success with theirs, but one track interests in my resources and what they could gain from my network. From this, I learned to trust myself more and surround myself with people who I could gain wisdom and who stood to gain nothing by helping me succeed. Doing everything alone is not a winning formula.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have always been a people person. I find people interesting, and it shows in work and a haircare product distributor. I carry various brands instead of one because everyone salon and every hairstylist that I encounter daily is different. They have diverse clientele as well and no one product line is sufficient for their variety of needs. My specialization is relationship building, plain and simple.
I am successful because of the relationships that I develop through personal interaction, emotional intelligence, and genuine care for my clients. They are more than customers who buy products from me. They are human beings with amazing skills but also want to feel appreciated for what they do. Many others who do this type of work are transactional only. They drop off products, ring up a sale, and do not authentically engage their clients.
How do you think about happiness?
I have to admit, I am somewhat of a people pleaser and it has caused me some grief in the past for obvious reasons. However, I am forever moved by the importance of knowing how blessed I am to be in the great industry that I am in and I want to bless others and encourage others to be cognizant of the blessings they have in front of them daily. I feel that my calling to make others feel happy regardless of what they are going through. Bringing cheer to others is a ministry to me.
