Meet Amanda Ramsey of Let’s Get It Started Event Planning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Ramsey.

Amanda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I know it sounds super cheesy, but I really do LOVE to make people smile.

From a very young age, I discovered that I wanted to make a “party” out of everything. I’d gather my stuffed animals around the table and drag my twin sister in the room and have a party to celebrate “Lambie’s” birthday. Or I’d get the neighborhood kids together to make friendship bracelets for “Friendship Day”. Needless to say, that passion grew with me into adulthood. I love lists and organization. I love to design events and make my client’s vision come to life!

In my early 20’s I began to “help” friends and family plan and organize their children’s Birthday parties, and that escalated to helping friends or friends. I had also been planning an organizing office events here and there. I’d often times get comments like “You should be an event planner” or “this is the best party I’ve been to”. Naturally, that got me thinking that maybe I could do this for a living. Not only is it something I love to do, but it’s something I can see myself doing for a long time.

With support and encouragement from my wife and sister, I started my little business. Let’s Get It Started Event Planning is fully insured and certified and seems to be taking off. It took a little while to get my wings, but I feel like I’m flying!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t want to say it’s been a bumpy road, but smooth, no. The biggest struggle is having to utilize your own finances to get going. From branding and logos to business cards and signs, it can be pricey. I’ve also struggled a little with finding clientele. As with anything, starting out can be hard because you want a client to trust you and if you don’t have a lot of experience under your belt or reviews on your website, it’s hard for them to trust you. Trust is most important.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Let’s Get It Started Event Planning – what should we know?
“Let’s Get It Started Event Planning” is a Metro Atlanta-based event planning, coordination, and event design company that offers a diverse selection of services to help you plan your event whether you need a Wedding Planner/Coordinator, or Social Event Planner/Coordinator.

I try to relieve as much stress from my clients as possible. I conduct research, create an event design, find the perfect event site, arrange for food, decor, and entertainment. And much more. From sending invitations to coordinating games and activities. I want my client to be able to enjoy their day and not have to worry about the details.

I believe my pricing is competitive and I always try to work within my client’s budget. I also firmly believe that we are ALL important and that ALL clients are welcome to use my services.

My wife and sister deserve credit for being so supportive. Also, my mom. She passed away a while ago, but she was very creative and artsy and I credit her for gifting me those qualities
