Meet Anthony Blakey of Savvy Entertainment in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Blakey.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey began as any other kid with dreams and aspirations. I grew up as the second youngest out of 7 kids, with a blue collar Dad and stay at home Mom in Louisville, KY. I was always a creative who wanted more. But like most, not really sure how to get there.

So in the interim, you just follow certain passions and see what comes of it. I truly believe that when hard work, dedication, talent, faith and opportunity finally align itself, you really have a nice recipe for success.

My turning point was shortly after my poetry book was released. From there it rapidly took off. Quickly the opportunities were revealed in becoming a songwriter.

My passion for writing songs and listening to my art pieces being performed inspired me to begin hosting and showcasing new, undiscovered artists at listening parties. The interest grew from there and I realized that this could become a brand on a full scale.

This vision then became a reality allowing me to branch the company both nationally and internationally.

Has it been a smooth road?
Life will not be life without a few bumps in the road. It is full of twists and turns, ups and downs but it is important that you don’t allow these road bumps to define the outcome and prevent you from achieving your goal. A quote I use regularly is, “You can change the plan but never the goal” (Anonymous). I am constantly changing the blueprint and readjusting, seizing every opportunity because I am determined to meet the goal that the team and I set.

In this line of work, people tend to cast judgments based on ethnicity and genre of business we are in. However, once the lines of communication are established then they realize how diverse Savvy Entertainment really is. We have an extensive business entertainment portfolio catering to various genres of music, such as Bluegrass, Country, EDM, Pop, Gospel, Rock R&B just to name a few.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Savvy Entertainment story. Tell us more about the business.
Savvy Entertainment has over 12 years of experience in the music industry. We provide a global platform to showcase musical gifts and to prompt new talent.

We are known not only for putting on successful local entertainment events but also for organizing international showcases, such as some of the concerts at the recent America´s Cup in Bermuda. Our ethical business sense along with building and maintaining close relationships with organizers and artists has created many opportunities for Savvy Entertainment to flourish.

Most recently in June 2017, we produced a prestigious international concert series and despite its many challenges, I am proud that our team was able to overcome them, work together and with a little bit of perseverance the performances were outstanding. We had to make many adjustments to our plans “but the goal always remained the same”

A quality that sets us apart is that we are radical thinkers who are willing to dive into organizing unorthodox events. We are inspired to tap into different forms of talents because we think outside the box and are fearless when it comes to innovative ideas.

“Different” is a good thing in our books.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The future of the entertainment industry is surely approaching a shift. I believe that the next big wave will be bridging music with virtual reality, technology, and film. And with technology on the rise, Savvy Entertainment will definitely be prepared to welcome these unforeseen changes.
