Today we’d like to introduce you to Asheena Davis.
Asheena, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started for my children. I wanted to do something that I KNEW they could benefit from; something in a market that always has a demand. I also wanted to push my own dream. I mean, think about it, the cooperation we work for, that’s someone else’s dream.
Every time we clock in, we push their dream even more. What about our own dreams? My dream is to start something that I can hand down to my children one day. To get where I am now, it took a lot of self-motivation, ambition, and sacrifice. I’m not where I want to be, YET; but I don’t see it taking too much longer to get to my ultimate dream.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The toughest struggle I’ve faced was getting support. I turned to friends and family to support me first. The problem I had with that, is that they always wanted free things. If it wasn’t free, they wanted it discounted. I mean, what would it benefit me to give away my services at no cost, just because you’re a friend or family. My biggest supporters turned out to be people I barely, or don’t even know.
All Things BeesWax – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a home fragrance company. I, primarily, sell wax melts, and by request, candles. I also sell room sprays. I’ve been working on a few other things under All Things Beeswax, but those are a surprise, lol. The thing that sets me apart is my wax. Beeswax is a natural wax that bees make. It also has great health benefits, unlike the other waxes. It makes me feel really great to know that I can make a home fragrance item that also doubles as a natural air purifier, which can help with some breathing issues, and eliminate odors.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is steady customer satisfaction, that’s results in an accomplishment. Why? Because customers make your business thrive. If they are constantly satisfied, your business will always accomplish new things.
