Meet Ayesha Laremont of Emanees Closet in Suwanee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayesha Laremont.

Ayesha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My love for fashion started when I was six years old. I remember always having sheets of paper and colored pencils and drawing women in these beautiful, ruffle, polka dot, sequin, and all the above ball gowns. My mother was always my true inspiration, as she always was so polished from head to toe and never missed a beat. Being the youngest of 4 my mother always made sure we looked just as good as she did. As I grew older and wiser I found ways to make fashion work for me on a budget. Even if that meant buying a $3 scarf to make the outfit look different then that’s what I did. Coupons, thrift stores and my sisters closest became my best friend. Although I was petite and they were bigger than me, that didn’t bother me and I would say, “oh it’s just oversized and the look I’m going for!”

It wasn’t until I moved to Georgia and losing my first major job, Emanees Closet was born in 2015. My husband encouraged me to apply for jobs but to use my natural skills and talent for hair and fashion, to start a blog, I did just that! I am a very creative and thrifty person and through fashion I create art.

YouTube was my initial start in the blogging world but, I soon realized that writing instead of recording my work was more my avenue! I was not gaining any traction or capturing the audience I thought I would. In 2018, I relaunched my blog with a new theme (“Love the Skin You’re In”) and logo to brand myself. I needed my audience to truly know who I was, what’s my purpose and to have fun styling close in my closet! 2018 has been and an amazing year from growing, meeting wonderful bloggers in Atlanta who are now my girl tribe, to connecting with women around the United States and abroad. I enjoy the love, support, and encouragement to continue to inspire that all women have an inner diva!

Has it been a smooth road?
Struggles? More like a roller coaster. All good things never come right away. My blogging career has been one hell of a ride and in all honesty, I never thought I would be where I am today! Although I have so far to go, I am truly at awe how far I have come within this year. I went from starting on YouTube and having a small following and being defeated to taking a year off to truly reevaluate if this is something I truly wanted to pursue. From the love and support of my husband, my faith in God, my blog is now growing, I am so excited to be working with major companies and outreach programs to inspire women and our community.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a fashion blogger, influencer and motivational creative writer. I love to consider myself a creative soul who loves to inspire divas (women) to love the skin you’re in. Being bullied at a young age is what I used to fuel my blog and to empower women that love starts from within. I am known for shopping my closet, classy fashion, being an over the top, motivational diva. I love to take my readers on a journey through my closet, with laughter, tears and downright girl talk.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Absolutely! Fashion trends are constantly shifting and so is marketing. Social media and influencers are the new driving force of retail, fashion, and trends. In the next five-ten years, I am sure there will be something beyond apps, social media and a new way of shopping. Fashion, shopping, and blogging are limitless I am always looking for new ways to create and speak to my divas!
