Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernard Ayala.
Bernard, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a photographer, father, husband, brother and a friend. Photography started for me as a hobby nine years ago when my son was born. I spent all of my time photographing my newborn baby boy, over time I have turned this passion into a professional career. My family has been my inspiration so I want to ensure that our story is told through photographs that we can cherish for years to come. I am always looking for new talent whether a model, Makeup artist or other photographers. Always humble, and love working with others and creating amazing images. My contribution in the field of photography has allowed me to work with many mediums.
I started photographing my kids and other families, loving my turn outs I wanted more of a challenge and started with High School sports. It did not matter what kind of sports, soccer, football, volleyball. I just wanted to super my technique. I also love Wedding Photography, just the thought of love, family and special moments that I just love to capture and see my clients smile and screams of joy that warms my heart when they see their images that I have capture for them. Two years ago I was offered a job as a photojournalist, that has taken me to meet so many wonderful people. I have had the honor of photographing, The Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United and Nascar. I also have been covering sports for colleges like Georgia Tech, UGA, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Clemson University and a few more. Last year was my first Super Bowl coverage and I am definitely ready for this year’s Atlanta’s upcoming events and more.
Has it been a smooth road?
Personally, I have definitely had my share of challenges and struggles along the way. Most of my sessions are outdoors, so the weather is always something to look out for in Georgia. Investing in your equipment is a necessity, every camera, every lens, the cost is always an understatement. Work and life balance as an entrepreneur is a constant struggle that will always keep me on my toes. Juggling fatherhood and being a husband is a challenge in itself with making time, as a family is one of my top priorities.
Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
I love my work and everything that rhymes, surrounds or use in the same sentence the word photography. I specialize in headshots, portrait photography and sports photography. For the past couple of months, I have been very with sports and portraits. I am well known in Atlanta for fairytale photography, cosplay photography and now sports. I am beyond proud of my company for its growth and the support of my family, I could not have done it without them. What separates me from the rest? I can say my style, making my clients happy with my work and always looking for the right composition in a photograph. I also believe in listening, understanding and knowing that every client has a story to tell and I am here to capture it.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about Atlanta is its culture and diversity. The ability to show and share art. There is nothing that I can say that I don’t like, but if I have to pick something it would be the traffic in and out of the city.
