Meet Bran Black

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bran Black.

Bran, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born & raised in metro Detroit, Michigan. I come from a family of entrepreneurs so being self employed was embedded in me since I could understand what a business was. From my father owning his car part designing company to my mother starting an array of businesses throughout her adult life, to even my oldest sister opening her beauty spa. I’ve been around business all my life. Up until my first year of college at Georgia State University, I didn’t quite know what my niche would be. Although, I knew it would be something big. I knew that God brought me to Atlanta for a bigger reason. I knew that he had a special purpose for me. Once the concept of branNEWmedia came to me, everything clicked. I figured out my purpose was to be the one who creates amazing opportunities for people who get overlooked or discredited. The one that looks out for creatives and shows genuine love and support. The one that through my success, inspires others to know they can do anything they focus on. So once I received the idea, I knew I couldn’t sleep on it. The idea to not only provide a platform for creatives to gain exposure and receive the recognition they deserve but also to create real, life changing opportunities for those who deserve them. And once I got my business plan together and some other things to get the concept in order, it was on from then. I knew it was only a matter of time until I would be able to contribute to changing someone’s life.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think my road to this point has been the exact definition of trial and error. Every single time I would think I’m doing something right and I think I would elevate to the next step, there would come a roadblock. Something that slapped me in the face. To the point where a few times, I’ve wanted to quit. Some of those things include the passing of my father, disputes between my family, making financial mistakes, almost losing my life in a car accident, losing what I thought where close relationships, not being able to get into the school of my first choice, not having the support system I needed, being betrayed, life changing injuries, and the list goes on. But where I’d like to take somewhat pride in is that I’m still here. Still pushing forward, still highly motivated, still working toward a vision that most might not be able to see. And I think that’s what it’s about ultimately. Through life’s challenges, how can one turn a lot of negativity into a lot of positive. And through my journey, I plan on showing the world just that.

Please tell us about your business.
So my business is branNEWmedia. Our saying is, “All things involving the culture.” And that’s just what it is basically. I was able to build a platform & concept that brings light onto talented individuals and brings them closer to the level of success they aspire to obtain. Some of the services we provide are music video submissions, for music artist to gain exposure on their visuals, promotion plans for music artist to get their content and brand out to more people, a platform for upcoming music producers to upload their beats to our website for artist to be able to shop and connect with them easily, a platform for upcoming fashion designers to upload their clothing lines onto our website for their sales and value to increase, my favorite, our BNM Package which is the ultimate starter pack for new artist to jumpstart or enhance their music careers, and you can find out more about everything else we provide at our website. We aim to specialize in the spaces of true artist development, which the industry severely lacks, and the one stop hub for you to find everything concerning upcoming talent and everything involved with the culture. All pun intended. As a new company, I’m most proud of the simple fact that I was able to create something that can generate so much positive. That’s what I’m all about. It’s not about the money for me, that comes regardless.

My true intention of branNEWmedia is to force change, inspire, and create opportunities. And the fact that I’m going to be able to do that, is what I’m most proud of. As far as what sets me apart from others, is just my genuineness and work ethic. The level of love I aspire to show is like no other. Every single artist or creative I work with, there’s a genuine care and love for them and what they produce. And with my work ethic, it just enhances it. I also am proud of and take pride in my work ethic. It’s gotten to the point where you won’t outwork me. I’ve made the decision that I’m dedicating my life to being the hardest worker in the room. First, one to clock in, last one to clock out. And anyone who personally knows me or has gotten a glimpse of my life can attest to that. When you’re truly passionate about something, it doesn’t even feel like work. Your drive comes from the love you have of what you’re doing and your purpose.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I could go all day on expressing all of my plans. That’s just how much of a forward thinker I am. I have at least the next six to seven years planned out for myself and my team. But, to briefly cover a few things. I do plan on taking the advertising of branNEWmedia to the next level. There won’t be a place you go that you won’t see or hear about us. I also plan on expanding my team. I have many positions to fill and I look forward to adding the right people to the journey. Also, I have plans of starting partnerships with large companies that have cultural influence, to make BNM just that much better. Not to mention I have an array of other business ventures that I will be tapping into in the coming years but I’m very adamant on focusing on one thing right now and building that foundation strong then start to add branches. But none the less, I have very immense plans that I can’t wait to execute and share with the world!
