Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittiny Coleman.
Brittiny, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was a full-time nursing student, who had experienced a horrible back injury. Soon as I thought I was at the finish line of nursing school I had an unexpected preterm labor 24 weeks. At 24 weeks my placenta ruptured causing me to be at a life-threatening state. I gave birth to a micro preemie who weighed 1.2 lbs, My daughter stayed in the NICU for a month with a grade two brain bleed. I wasn’t sure if I’d bury my daughter or bring her home with me.
I had to make a choice to either go into the deepest darkest depression or LIVE for my daughter. I needed something to do to not only make me happy but to make the other mothers that were dealing with “The NICU experience” happy. I saw over 100 children laying in beds with tubes everywhere that were the most difficult thing to deal with including seeing my own child in the same state. Essence is and was my strength and when I wanted to quit my bonus mom Regina would force me to continue my journey. My YouTube channel saved my life and many others’ life.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Lord no, I wanted to give up so many times. My daughter and Mom is the reason I didn’t give up.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
What I do is teach young girls how to grow and maintain naturally healthy hair, with a twist of comedy. I think of all kinds of pranks and I go around the family/city and prank people for fun.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory as a child would be the many time my sister (Liv Rena), brother and I would travel the world singing. We’re all grown now so we don’t see each other much, so memories with them would have to be my favorite.
