Today we’d like to introduce you to Chance Cessna.
Chance, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. I was raised by a single dad and am the youngest of three amazing siblings. I started my career off as a teen tv host. When I was 15, I was selected to co-host a tv show that introduced me to the world of TV & Film. I later went on to study journalism and mass communication at The George Washington University. Shortly, after I moved to LA and started working in Hollywood full time as TV Host and actress. At the top of 2019 however, I made a decision to shift gears and write my first book.
Now, I am a published author, speaker, and film producer. I recently published my first book Emerge: Breakthrough Into Your Destiny which debuted as the #1 new release on Amazon. My greatest desire at this point in my life, is to really see people healed, restored, and transformed into who they were created and designed to be.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My journey has been filled with difficulties, obstacles, and disappointments. However, it’s also been filled with many victories and triumphs that I am thankful to God for. In 2017, I lost everything. I was living in Los Angeles and became homeless. I was sleeping in my car. That season was very dark and difficult. It was my faith that carried me through. Knowing that God had a bigger plan and purpose for my life was ultimately what kept me going.
In my book Emerge, I talk about how I rose from the ashes of my pain and share wisdom on how other people can essentially go from a place that feels like a pit to the palace. From a place of joy to pain. From a place of brokenness to wholeness.
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about you and your career so far?
I have always saw myself as a trailblazer. I am not afraid to go to places people have never been, I am not afraid to explore the unknown, and I am not afraid to challenge the norms. I believe in order to emerge, it will demand that you stand for truth and be one-hundred percent authentic. We live in a time where people just want what’s real with no filters, and I strive to be that.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As of lately, I have been spending a lot of time visiting and speaking at various prisons. God has put it on my heart to reach people behind bars as they are often the forgotten people of our society. I believe in redemption. I believe in second-chances. I believe in transformation. So I plan to do more work around prison reform and being a voice for the voiceless.
I also just launched a new podcast called Emerge which is catered to entrepreneurs, creatives, influencers, and like minds seeking to change the world.
