Meet Che’Naomi Durant-Lyons of LoveGaloree in Jonesboro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Che’Naomi Durant-Lyons.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been interested in art and drawing since a young kid. As an adult, life got in the way and I didn’t make time for art or have the passion anymore. Fast forward to 2017, I was preparing to be married and decided to use my artsy skills to decorate my wedding. From there, I started creating and selling personalized wedding decor; card boxes, custom wooden letter, canvas guest books, etc. After my wedding, I decided to switch directions and get back into drawing and I taught myself how to paint and put my art and quotes on t-shirts.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been and still isn’t, a smooth road. Every day has been a teaching lesson for me, whether it’s learning the ins and outs of being an entrepreneur or just perfecting my craft.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about LoveGaloree – what should we know?
LoveGaloree is a 90’s and pop culture inspired art and apparel brand. The main focus is the art of course, available on canvases, posters and also our tees. The style is similar to fan art as many aspects of my childhood are reflected in my art. I am most proud of the fact that I am able to create and share my piece of happiness with the public and that people respond well to what I produce. It feels good. I think what sets me apart is my passion and the love I have for what I do.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband and father are owed a certain amount of credit when it comes to me and my business. My father is the reason I know anything about art, as he is an artist himself. As a kid, I did everything he did and looked up to him so it was only right for me to pick up the pencil also. My husband has played a great role in the fact that he supports everything that I do. He’s the one that encourages me when I’m just not feeling it, he’s my model, my business partner and everything in between.
