Meet Cousin Corrie of Dream Lotus in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cousin Corrie.

Cousin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in a small neighborhood called Richmond Heights in Miami, Florida. Being second to youngest of four other siblings in the house, plus having a mother who was so compassionate about helping others, I always knew what it was like to stick together and being optimistic no matter the circumstances you’re in. As a kid, I have always been passionate about anything that I do whether it’s art or just simply mowing the lawn. I’m a firm believer of mastering self and putting in the necessary work.

Early on I was influenced by the music and film business. Inspired by Soundtracks from movies like “The Bodyguard”, “Shaft” and “The Wiz”, I would watch movies just to listen to the music that was emulated on certain scenes of the film and the different moods it would bring whether it was an inspiration or painful. Just being able to communicate with someone sonically to the point where you can heal them from things they may be going through in their personal life is what inspired me the most.

After being out of high school for a couple of years, I finally built up the nerve to move to Atlanta and further my talents and knowledge in the business. In the thick of mastering my craft and simply networking, I met Jason Stanley (IG @dapublicseye) who is an awesome mentor of mine and brother from another mother. (Shout out to WorkGrindHustle and the whole team) Changing my whole prospective about the music business and giving me light on how I should approach the business and go about things. Collaborating on multiple projects together and just being side to side has shaped me into a better creator and also a better person overall.

In addition, I reunited with my childhood friends Samuel Lee Fudge (IG @samuelleefudge) and Nathaniel Williams (IG @sinwill25). Being that we share similar paths, we decided to write a short film relating to our background experiences. We thought it’d be best that we produce the film under a production company that we too, would create. From there, we formed Dream Lotus Productions. With Samuel and all his resources, I was blessed to have the honor to become a part of the Nate Parker Foundation as a composer.

Has it been a smooth road?
I believe the fear of not knowing can hold us back from many opportunities and that’s what makes us complacent and stuck in situations that we don’t want to be in. I’ve learned that no matter what you’re going through it is only temporary for the moment. You will always exceed past any obstacles or turmoil that you’re facing as long as you’re surrounded by like-minded people. Relearn and reprogram yourself! With the guidance and support from both my teams WorkGrindHustle (IG @workgrindhustle) and Dream Lotus (_dreamlotus), is definitely reassuring. Glasses up to always being there for me when your assistance was needed. I love y’all!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Dream Lotus – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Dream Lotus Productions was established in November 2019, by Samuel Lee Fudge, Nathaniel Williams and I. With all of our visions, we wanted to create a company that produces content that educates uplifts and empowers the culture today and generations to come.

In addition, we wanted the content to reflect our heritage. Through each piece of work, we strive to connect with our audiences; ultimately influencing self-prosperity from within. In hopes to spark social change in the world, our work also highlights social issues in the world. Our company specializes in creating media content, such as films, commercials, music, music videos, PSA’s, photographs and graphics. We also produce theatrical stage plays. We are also known for our Dream Lotus Apparel; Hats and T-shirts designed by Nicki Sutton, owner of (SOL ROOTz Apparel) and freelance artist, Shynessa Jordan.

The name “Dream Lotus” steams from the journey of the lotus flower and my own personal concept of how it relates to human life experiences. In short, the lotus flower starts a seed, buried in mud. Relying on its roots, the flower pushes through the mud until it reaches the surface top. Once it has finally made its way through the filthy mud, the Lotus finally blossoms into the beautiful flower we know it to be. Just like the lotus, we all go through muddy circumstances and instances in our lives that may temporarily blind us from our dreams and goals. Though, once we persevere through these occasions, we too can then blossom beautifully like the lotus flower. Every single person in the world who has thrived and overcame trials, tribulations or turmoil in their life is a Lotus.

The dream part comes from me literally telling the world to dream. Every single day you wake up, your mind should be set on self-progression; growing and getting closer to your dreams and goals. Dreaming is essential when trying to accomplish anything.

What sets us apart from other companies are our unique concept of the lotus flower and our use of the lotus flower to change the world. Not many production companies can say that they strive to change the world and have work that shows. Dream Lotus is for changing the world and bettering the people in it. We will always stand behind that.
