Meet Deanndra Ross of MOOD in Fitzgerald

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanndra Ross.

Deanndra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
At first, owning my own business wasn’t in my career path. But then after spending a semester after semester in college, I realized that I couldn’t see myself actually enjoying what I was going to college for, or any other field for that matter. So I did some soul searching and asked myself what truly makes me happy. I’ve always found joy in crafting and creating pieces of all kinds. So, I decided to make my career out of it, a career out of something I really enjoyed and was passionate about.

I first became an entrepreneur in April 2017, when I established and founded The Ladybug Factory. We, The Ladybug Factory, offer monogrammed and customization for an array of items; from home decor to wine glasses, we offer it all. Then, a year later in March 2018, I founded MOOD and began to celebrate my first full year as an entrepreneur. MOOD was created to provide an expressive outlet for my customers.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The journey of being an entrepreneur is not easy, and trust me, the road has not always been smooth. Being from a small town, Fitzgerald, GA, is hard enough but I did not allow that to block me from following my passion. I didn’t allow the lack of support, clients, nor competition to get in the way of my goals that I set aside for my brand. I didn’t focus on what my area couldn’t provide for me but instead provided it for myself.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with MOOD – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
MOOD Apparel offer items such as tank tops, t-shirts, long sleeve, sweatshirts, & looking to add more. MOOD Drinkware has some of the apparel designs so that when your MOOD Apparel is getting washed, you can still “State your MOOD”. July 2019, we released Scent the MOOD; Scent the MOOD is our candle and wax melt collection. We are constantly adding new items to our brand to help “State your MOOD”.

What I am most proud of is that I am actually sticking through with my goals. No matter what this journey has brought upon me, I did not allow for it discourage me but to channel that energy into delivering the BEST quality products for my customers! In 2018, I was honored Mogul of the Month by Her Image Magazine which also is when MOOD was featured in Her Image first magazine issue.

What sets MOOD apart is that we offer our customers an opportunity to become apart of the MOOD Tribe. The MOOD Tribe is where those who subscribe to our website will receive emails about upcoming sales, releases, and events. When you become a member of the MOOD Tribe, you even have a special code to use outside our weekly sales. MOOD also have this weekly sale called Yellow Friday. Every Friday, we give our customers HUGE savings from 20%-50% off or even free shipping! Now that’s a MOOD!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
One day I do inspire to open a storefront that not only sell my MOOD products but to also serve coffee and to give my customers a relaxing setting to study, socialize, and/or lounge about. Until then, I am looking forward to continue to give my current and future customers the best experience possible.
