Meet Decatur Musician and Actor: Sweet P The Entertainer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sweet P The Entertainer.

Sweet P, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Started singing with my older brother and high school friends and eventually started a singing group. We started performing throughout Atlanta and performed cover songs. Eventually, we started singing our own original songs. After a few years, we disbanded and I started producing local artist’s in the metro area and shopping them to record labels. I then realized that the labels loved my music but didn’t love the artist’s so I started producing and writing my own music. I then decided to head to Los Angeles where I can pursue both my music as well as my acting. That’s where I am today living in Hollywood pursuing music, modeling, and acting!

Has it been a smooth road?
Yes, I ended up homeless when I first moved to LA thinking that it would be an easier road than it appears. Tried to live off of savings and realized that LA was too expensive for that so I had to live on the streets until I got my hustle up and started selling my Cd’s on the streets of LA until I could get a place to lay my head and build a home studio to get back to my music!

Has there been people or an institution that has played a pivotal role in your career?
Michael Jackson and Prince are my biggest influences and inspiration! Everything I’ve learned I took it from them. I’ve watched them religiously over the years. I think those two are the greatest entertainers in music history!

What type of clients or projects do you look forward to most?
I’m looking forward to my new album coming around January 2017. I think it’s going to be my greatest work ever from the production quality, lyrical depth, and vocal skills. I’m giving it 100% of everything I’ve experienced up until now!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would’ve concentrated on myself as an Artist and not produce for other people as much although it did help me to hone my production skills and studio expertise. However, those artist’s were not as dedicated as I was because I’m still doing it after all these years!
