Meet Deicole Almond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deicole Almond.

Deicole, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 2016 I decided I wanted to begin selling costume jewelry. My nephew Kobe came up with the name Shining for Sky. Since my son name is Skyler. A couple of months later, I lost my nephew in a tragic car accident. To keep his name alive and to continue with what I had planned, I changed the name to MyKOBEintheSKY. That way, it had both my nephew and my son’s name involved.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far, yes, everything has been pretty smooth. I can say that I have no complaints. Some/most of my customers are now like family. I have some great loyal customers in and out of state. They love MyKOBEintheSKY as much as I do.

Please tell us about your business.
MyKOBEintheSKY makes handmade custom bracelets, necklaces, lanyards, Apple beaded watch bands, etc. I am proud of every item that I sell. My goal is to make MKITS a household name or a name people will say daily. With every item I make from beginning to end, I make sure the customer is completely satisfied. I do not sell an item until I have the customer’s approval. The custom pieces I make are to be worn, not to end up in a jewelry box. I think my customer service goes a long way. Regardless of any situation, I am respectful to all my customers and even those who only have questions but have yet to place an order.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My customer service is A+. My customers know I will do all I can to bring their vision into bracelet form. If there is something I do not have, I will try my hardest to get it for them or the closest thing to it. I make as many changes as they want to their custom item until they love it. My customers mean so much to me, and I make sure they know that.
