Meet Guy Powell of ProRelevant in Brookhaven

Today we’d like to introduce you to Guy Powell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Guy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Measuring marketing effectiveness and ROI had always been a challenge for most businesses. It was easy to put together great marketing campaigns but to know whether they actually delivered incremental sales was the problem. In their guts, marketers knew that the programs worked, but how could they prove it. So, in 2001 I authored the book Return on Marketing Investment: Demand More From Your Marketing and Sales Investments laying out the basics of measurement and connecting the dots between marketing activities and incremental sales.

Since then we purchased a software company that had developed a great marketing measurement software, MarketSim. MarketSim was written to help major consumer brands optimize their product launches and improve their overall marketing mix. In parallel with this I wrote two additional books, Marketing Calculator: Measuring and Managing Return on Marketing Investment and The ROI of Social Media: How to improve the Return on Your Social Marketing Investment. All of this work led us to become one of the best and well-known experts in the field of Marketing ROI and Effectiveness. We provide strategic and tactical marketing consulting to help major brands measure, manage and improve their marketing to drive the most sales they can out of the marketing investment dollars.

Has it been a smooth road?
Marketing measurement and ROI consulting was well received around the world. Since we started we have trained thousands of marketing professionals in this area. Each of these training sessions led to follow-on consulting projects that helped to drive the business. Many of the projects were run out of Asia for major marketers in southeast Asia and in China.

Even though in slowing economies, this type of marketing analytics and consulting is sorely needed, things can also slow for our offered services. In 2012 as the Chinese economy began to slow we began to shift our business development activities to the US and were able to build a thriving business for major brands in the US.

For major consumer, B2B and B2B2C brands we help them to optimize their marketing investments, so that they can grow faster at a profit. We do this with proprietary methods based on advanced analytics, such as Agent-Based Modeling.

We have worked on a number of great brands including the largest sponsorship deal, super bowl commercials and many other fascinating marketing activities to help our clients deliver higher ROI out of their marketing investments.

Atlanta is a great place for any business. For us the airport and access to easy, inexpensive airfare makes all the difference. Also, because of its size, Atlanta has a great talent pool from which to choose from.
