Meet Javed F Rager of xFOXHOUNDx

Today we’d like to introduce you to Javed F Rager.

Javed, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My passion for being a creative comes from being born in the greatest city in the world that is Toronto! I had great luck moving around when I was a kid being able to experience all walks of life. Leaving Toronto at the age of two, I was raised in states such as Ohio, Illinois and Georgia where I’ve been since ’96. After graduating high school, I was fortunate enough to make money through sports betting allowing me to explore other states. I’ve always dreamed about living in, spending 5 years in New York, 2 years in Florida, 1 year in Michigan and 1 year in Virginia. My passion for photography came into play when I got heavily involved with the streetwear and high fashion game. Something about the aesthetics of being able to create a visual appealing outfit, gave me a chance to be able to create art that wasn’t drawing or something along the lines of that. However, to capture the visual process, I had to get into photography and master it and honestly, that has led me to so many more things that I wouldn’t have thought possible. The joy of sharing your travels, clothes and life to people bar none is the most satisfying feeling I get from doing photography.

Has it been a smooth road?
I’m sure as any creative will tell you it’s not always pretty as it looks on Instagram or any other social media platform. Getting paid for your art is hard and there are a lot of sacrificing you will have to do in order to reach your dreams. Countless nights from one friends house to another to being lucky enough to even have enough money to eat a proper meal. Inner struggles of doubt when things aren’t going your way, I would be lying if at times, it didn’t get dark but honestly even those days you’re meant to cherish and I wouldn’t trade the good or bad for anything.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I think with FOXHOUND, it’s just the creativity that we bring to the table. One chat with the company and you’ll see that our vision is just different from most and being born in such a multicultural city that is Toronto it really helps when you travel outside of it. Anyone that has worked with our company will tell you they leave with more confidence then they came with and that is what we are about and makes me the most proudest as a company being able to touch people’s lives and give them that extra courage they might be lacking. My attitude has always been “there’s nothing that I can’t ever do” My mom instilled that in me at a very young age and while that might come off as arrogance that same attitude is why we specialize in such a variety of things from sports betting, photography, fashion, music and just being an all around creative.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Being in Atlanta since ’96, I cant say I’ve taken one thing from this city that’s made me into who I am. This city owes a lot to the musicians, mainly the rappers who’ve created a signature sound and allure for the city. The city its self however is very one dimensional with not a lot going on. You can compare the Toronto hashtag to Atlanta hashtag and you can easily spot the difference. I mean, I have to go back to Toronto every 3-4 months for inspiration just to bring it back to Atlanta as everyone here seems to be really superficial and very one track minded. Even with a lot of Hollywood movies being filmed here and seeing the city transform into being more cultured, I cant really say I would still recommend people who are trying to be creative to make something happen here.
