Meet Jazsper Womack of Color Me Pretty by Just Jazee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazsper Womack.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a 24- year old, native from Alabama, where I’ve spent most of my life. Growing up my mom always made sure her girls were well dressed, hair combed, well-fed. It wasn’t until my mom was diagnosed with gall bladder stones and needed emergency surgery for me to take interest in hair at 12 years old. My eldest sister could not braid my hair like my mom, Wavy, thick, kinky hair was obviously a challenge, so going to school was the last place I wanted to be.

I started watching videos and looking at pictures of girls in magazines, different colors, and styles. I then asked my mom to show me how to braid. I started off making plaits on baby dolls, practicing on close family, to booking clients at 13 years old. I practiced on myself, showing my work across the states. When I graduated High school at 18, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I had a passion for hair, music, and even wanted to be a nurse. I was torn between the three paths I could follow and that would dictate where I would be in life. After a long thought process, I ended up choosing, yeah your right the Beauty world. I went on to graduate Cosmetology school at 19. A few years later, I created a hair, makeup, and lash line so that women and men could get everything at one place. Just think a Wal-Mart but for beauty. “Color Me Pretty” by Just Jazee is about painting a picture of the best looking you. I want every client that steps foot in my chair whether for hair, lashes, or makeup to feel exuberant, sexy, confident, elite to name a few.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh no, Anything worth having is definitely worth fighting for. There were many times I wanted to give up. I have always been my own boss; but many times, I struggled because I funded everything myself. Poor budgeting skills, being young and naive. It had a lot to do with the unknown in the industry for me. Where to start? How much were the products? How many products to buy? What I wanted to present to the public and would they buy what I was offering? All these questions were running through my mind. I am certain that every entrepreneur knows what I’m talking about when I say, “the trial and error stage.” Taking losses and going through things and you can still withstand and have determination to keep going is suffice for successfulness.. Where I want to be in life with my company, I have a ways to go. However, I’m very proud of what I have accomplished and learned since I have started. I always remember and repeat what my dad says “The best is yet to come.”

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Color Me Pretty by Just Jazee – what should we know?
“Color Me Pretty by Just Jazee” is the name of my company. I offer 100% Virgin 10 grade bundles, frontals, closures, wigs, custom wigs, braids, mink lashes, makeup and services. It’s simply a one stop shop. I specialize in wigs/weave, natural hair, and makeup. I am most proud of the vision I have of my company, seeing the crawling turn into walking. I use to ask myself how can I differentiate my company from someone else, considering this is a billion dollar industry, everything you can think of is about already out there. Nevertheless, I had a gift, I wanted to share with the world. ‘Color Me pretty” by Just Jazee is different because it’s not just a line, its a utopia. It was created to provide a euphoric feeling, A concierge to people that needed and desired Exceptional service, to provide a luxurious environment to the elite when they are pampered. Just Jazee was started to cater to one that have lost their hair (burn victims, alopecia, cancer victims, etc.) firstly, however, I wanted all my clients to always know that are beautiful, that they can come to me whenever they want to feel better because everyone knows, if you look better, you feel better.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
People mostly see in me and I have to agree is my drive, ambition, dedication, persistence, and being a go-getter. I just never wanted to wait on a handout, or on someone else. I’ve always been the type of woman to think on my next move, what do I have to do to be successful in this industry? How do I attract the most favorable to consider my products? The objective is to have a plan and execute by the deadline. These traits have allowed me to accomplish many things in my life and I’m very eager to see where they are taking me.
