Meet Jennifer Snowden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Snowden.

Jennifer, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in a very small town where it feels like time forgot. I always felt like an “outsider” and that I had to constantly prove my worth and friendship. I loved my imagination and I would spend hours outside creating stories and playing in that world. I knew I was different. I knew I did not quite fit in as I have always been a dreamer. I had a feeling in my gut that there was more to life and I did not have to settle. But, the world around me kept telling me that my dreams did not matter and that they were just pipe dreams. I could NEVER make them come true as they were impossible to obtain. Growing up for the majority of my life until just this year, I felt I was not enough. Who I was, what I did, never mattered and I didn’t deserve it. I started to believe the lies I was told and I was wasting my life. I hit rock bottom. I hated myself. I was jealous of those that I saw living the life and their dreams and I was not. I blamed others for not having success and I became a very dark person. I would look in the mirror and not even recognize who I was. But, thankfully, I decided to change and it took a LOT of effort and surrounding myself with positive people and weeding out the toxic ones to see that I AM ENOUGH, I deserve all my dreams and I found my purpose. I know the struggles and hardships I faced when I was young, made me stronger and able to tell my story to help others find their way and live out their dreams.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I still have moments of weakness in letting negative thoughts creep in. I feel like the world has been against me and God is definitely proving to me that I can overcome everything. I am the epitome of rejection. I seem to approach these doors and they never want to open. I may get a crack but it seems to have the wind on the other side and the door slams back in my face. My dreams of being a storyteller and motivator for women takes a lot of effort and never giving up. I have had rejections from agencies, casting directors, etc, telling me I am not the “type” they are looking for, or I do not have the credits to be bankable and the list keeps going. I still am struggling with that but I know I am meant to tell a story and I am here to help change the world in letting other women know they are enough and I will manifest it to be so. I am working on not letting these rejections be personal because it is just an opinion from a human being. And the best thing I have read in a book that I have been saying on repeat and I think it can help your readers is this, “Someone else’s opinion of me is none of my business.” You know your dreams and what you want, and if you keep putting in the effort and work, it will happen and the right people will come along. I truly believe that. I think one of the biggest wins is going after your dream, even when others tell you to give up. You need to keep showing up for YOU. Keep showing up for you because your goals and dreams are bigger than your fears and those rejections. I may not have the credits that this industry in entertainment or fitness and health to say we want you… but that is when you keep your head down and keep putting in the effort and showing up.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a storyteller. Whether that be in getting to take part in a tv show, in acting class, film, etc. I love being the vessel in telling stories through my voice, that only I can tell. I am also a storyteller in telling my personal struggles and story through my platforms in how you can overcome and it starts with your mindset and getting your health under control.

I help others, specifically with women, to learn that their dreams matter and that they matter. It starts with making your health a priority and I work with them virtually with finding how to make exercise, better nutrition, and mindset a part of a lifestyle. I do not work with “fad” diets as I do not personally believe in them. And it hurts my heart to see and hear women constantly putting themselves down, feeling guilty if they ate something they shouldn’t, didn’t get in a workout, etc. I strive in helping them see it is not about being perfect, but it is about showing up every day and doing the best they can. I know finding a passion for health and fitness for myself, has helped my life completely change overall. I started to radiate confidence, feel comfortable in my body, which brought me to be more comfortable in my work as an actress. When we are uncomfortable in our bodies, we hide parts of who we are from the world. I want us to shine and BE WHO YOU ARE. A nd health is the start. You gain confidence, you end up surrounding yourself with more positive people, you are inviting a positive mindset into your circle and discover who you are.

I have been known for quite some time as “the fitness girl” I share my journey on my platforms as I want you to see that I am consistent but also in hope to inspire you to know you can do it too. I am proud of my journey and I am proud to be partnered up with an incredible company that has a core mission I believe in– TO LIVE A HEALTHY FULFILLING LIFE.

I feel what sets me apart from others in this is that I am not going to show just the “Highlights” of my life, and post how great my life is. I want to be relatable. I want to be real. I want to share my highs and lows. I want you to see the possibilities your life can be when you just accept that who you are is enough and you do not need to do anything “extra” to gain your tribe. I am honestly here to help you see what can be possible when you never give up, want the best for others, and keep being authentic to who you are.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I absolutely have been loving Atlanta. My husband, Corey, and I have been all over the world it seems since we started dating. I started in a small town in WV, moved to NJ to be with him, then we commuted from NY, moved to Los Angeles, and finally discovered GA.

I love the vibes of having the cities but also I love that these neighborhoods are little small town vibes as well. I love to be back on the east coast because I am a family person. I missed not being able to spend time with my family when we were in CA due to distance. Now, I can be a car drive away for I know how important it is to spend time with those you love.

But Atlanta has brought me to find myself. It has been here I really started to do the work and effort in just being who I am. I have made some amazing friends I consider part of my soul tribe and I will be forever grateful to have them in my life. I love that this place has opened up so many possibilities for me. Being here for almost two years, I have already been humbled to work on many ID shows in Knoxville as well as just having an opportunity to play with more auditions.

I also love that it has given my husband and I places we can go away and visit as we have discovered we enjoy travel and Georgia has some beautiful natural wonders.

I do not personally have anything bad to say about this city. I know with any place there can always be cons with the pros, but I honestly enjoy it here, but if I were to say anything, I just wish it could be closer to Disney World! Lol, at least a few hours vs. almost seven! (Yes, I am a HUGE Disney fan as well, so if you choose to connect with me, you will see that side of me as well. Again, I am a BIG DREAMER and who was one of the biggest dreamers that proved you can do anything when you put your mind to it? Walt Disney himself!)
