Meet Jessica Warfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Warfield.

Jessica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m originally from a small town in Kentucky where I lived with my grandmother. One of my aunts took me as her own and I started to live with her in Virginia when I was nine. I started watching Disney channel and Tyler movies/shows. I knew almost every Tyler Perry line. As my aunt would say, I was really a drama queen. I really loved making her laugh. Elementary school all the way through college I was active in the entertainment field. I performed and took dance, acting, and chorus classes in and out of school. As far as dance, I have been trained in jazz, hip-hop, liturgical, etc. I dance halftime at basketball and football games through college. I majored in theatre arts speech communications. I have never been in a play except in church once but I have a lot of acting training and as for singing I had a personal voice coach and I took chorus classes and performed in school. I also do modeling on the side and sometimes appear in music videos. The biggest music video I was in was Watch Out by 2 Chainz. I’ve been doing background work in movies and tv shows like Step Up: High Water, Star on Fox, Greenleaf OWN, Devious Maids, Ambitions, The Resident and more. I am currently still doing extra work and I just got my first speaking role in a student film. I currently have 2 speaking roles in 2 films. One of them is called Anti-Social Media and the other is called SINthetic.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s not as easy as I thought it would be. There’s so much that goes into acting such as social media, setting boundaries, having a clean image, standing out from the crowd, etc. another big obstacle is networking and going out to get what you want because close mouths don’t get fed.

What sets you apart from others?
I feel like what sets me apart from others is that I know that there is always something to learn and I always stay humble.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Hopefully, I have my own tv or movies. I also want to open a business and direct a few films.
