Today we’d like to introduce you to Karmen Kendrick.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Karmen. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey into the design space started seven years ago — flashback to 2012. One day I decided to launch an e-commerce shop. I needed a website so the first thing I did was Google web designers. The company I found did a great job as far as the design but the functionality needed to run an online shop was lacking.
I was running the business on a shoestring budget so I had to get my hands dirty and figure it out myself. As I continued to tweak my website and move platforms a few times I finally settled on the self-hosted version of WordPress and never looked back.
In 2016, I decided to take the skills I learned from creating sites for myself to help other start-up businesses launch sites that looked great and help achieve their business goals.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s definitely has been a lot of ups and downs along the way. Some of the biggest struggles at the beginning for me was not having a process and saying yes to everything.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Karmen Kendrick Creative – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I design brands and websites for entrepreneurs and executives that enable them to convert social media followers into email subscribers and create a funnel into their paid products and services. Due to my level of exclusivity with the types of clients I work with, I can deliver results that help my clients achieve their business goals. I take the time to learn my clients’ businesses with extensive discovery and planning sessions to ensure their websites meet the needs of all stakeholders involved.
I also provide educational content through my social media, blog, and email list that helps my audience and clients understand how design impacts their business. I’m most proud of the level of growth I’ve seen in my design skills and process that gives my clients a better design experience.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Atlanta because you can literally drive 30 minutes either direction and experience something different than the community you live in. The only thing I dislike about our city is the traffic at rush hour, but that’s every metropolitan city, right?
