Today we’d like to introduce you to Khalil Walthour.
Khalil, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my brand straight out of high school in the year of 2016. I always wanted to do more than just be apart of the fashion game, I wanted to change the game. I was working a 9- 5 job at boost mobile when I decided that I wanted to do more and impact our culture with more creative styles and designs. I never went to college before so everything I learned, I learned on my own. I didn’t know how to sell items, create a website or how to run a business in general. I knew what I wanted so I immediately got to work. I started very small with a few sunglasses that I purchased at an outlet mall. I remember walking up to a kiosk and telling my mother that I wanted to purchase three pairs of stylish sunglasses that were $6 each to start a business. I took the sunglasses back to work, took pictures of them and uploaded them to Big Cartel which was a free e-commerce platform for beginners. Selling out of all my sunglasses which was only three, but at the time that was a huge accomplishment for me. After selling out, I knew I could do what I always wanted to do which was design clothing that would impact our culture for the better. I spent a total of $18 to start my brand and now, I’m selling my products for $90 plus. After late nights of designing and late night phone calls with manufacturers overseas, my life took a huge change as the quality of my products improved. Three months after I graduated, I moved everything to Atlanta living without any family. This move was a huge impact on my brand because Atlanta is where I met a lot of celebrities, designers and other talents that I was later on able to work with. I grew my contacts while building relationships with businesses and people in the community.
Has it been a smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges for me starting off was the local support! Coming from a small town like Hinesville GA, the support was very limited! The town was more so focused on sports and sports players more than entrepreneurs and other fields of talent. A lot of young creatives from my hometown will not speak on it because they feel like no one will even care. My town was so focused on getting scholarships and going to college, forgetting that a lot of people were not, in fact, going to college or getting scholarships but still making a name for themselves. Now, don’t get me wrong. My family and close friends are very great supporters of mine and I appreciate them very much as they are a huge part of my success.
I also faced obstacles with working a full-time job and maintaining my religion all while trying to run a global streetwear brand. Some days I would have to give more time to my job which will cause my business to slack. One of the hardest obstacles is trying to find different manufacturers to create the right product with the right material, size, quantity with a good turn around time.

CIDENNA is a clothing brand based on encouraging and inspiring others to express themselves through fashion. CIDENNA provides the latest streetwear clothing for men and women. We provide headbands, slides, Tracksuits, shirts, bodysuits, T-shirts and more. CIDENNA is known for our famous tour collections. “CIDTOUR” is our latest tour collection and the CID in the name stands for created in difference. Our tour collections are simply just movements in our culture for different bosses around the world to express themselves in creative and different ways. Our brand has been seen on famous Instagram dancing videos, Tv shows such as Pretty Little Liars, Housewives of Atlanta and more. CIDENNA is also known for bold and engaging photoshoots which continues to grow with our global reach of supporters overseas. With an outpour of support, CIDENNA has successfully sold out each collection released to date. Within the last year, CIDENNA has been able to land a partnership with Birch & Pen Store in Northwoods Shopping Mall and we plan on adding more location in the very near future.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and the least?
Atlanta is full of people that are willing to work and make a name for themselves. It’s a growing city with a lot of opportunities. What I dislike about Atlanta has to be the traffic! Traffic is ridiculous in Atlanta.
