Meet Kimathi ”K.O” Olenja of Cold Turkey Management in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimathi ”K.O” Olenja.

Kimathi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I attended Clark Atlanta University, where I graduated with a degree in Marketing. While in college, I was an A&R intern at Big Cat Records hosting acts such as Gucci Mane, Maceo, Rasheeda, Buju Banton, and many more. After college, I went into corporate management for a very large brand. There I gained tons of experience and learned the strategies that I now use to run Cold Turkey Management.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Every journey worth taking has its setbacks. I literally expect obstacles to pop up, so when they do, I’m not thrown off task. When you follow your dreams, there will be all kinds of things thrown at you that will test your dedication. I look at it as earning your success. That being said, I have experienced tons of struggles, and I look forward to the ones that are yet to come.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Cold Turkey Management story.
Cold Turkey Management is an entertainment company that specializes in managing various artists, productions, as well as marketing campaigns. We ensure that all related processes run efficiently so that our clients can focus on what they do best. Our services are available to both individuals or to entire companies. A good example of that would be our current production management contract with Radar Live. We partnered with them on events such Dream Hack ATL & Atlanta’s first Call of Duty Tournament featuring Atlanta Faze and Offset (Faze Clan).

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Some things work out better than I could ever plan. Chance meetings that change the course of my career. Unexpected opportunities, etc. Some call it luck, I guess, I call it blessings.
