Meet Lance Mapp, James Tiernan and Zach DeLoach of Sweetbay in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lance Mapp, James Tiernan and Zach DeLoach.

Lance, James and Zach, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We started off as a blues/rock trio after Lance, lead singer, asked Zach and James to do a last minute performance without any prior rehearsal. A musical bond was instantly formed and SWEETBAY was born. After about a year of writing and performing, SWEETBAY transitioned to indie-pop and began releasing new music.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been quite a difficult journey to our current status. There have been many people with alternative motives that have led us on a different path than we originally intended. Everything from agents, managers and even other bands and artists.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the SWEETBAY story. Tell us more about the business.
SWEETBAY is an indie pop band. We play guitar/synth driven indie-pop and we are known for creating huge ambient worlds with our music, as well as putting on larger than life performances.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
A good bit of our achievements have come from a combination of luck and hard work. There have been many times where we have met amazing people by chance but worked hard to impress them enough to believe in us.
