Meet Lauren Perez of Just About Love

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Perez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lauren. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have loved working weddings and events since college. My first experience with weddings was an internship I had one summer in college in Long Island, NY. Talk about amazing experience and even more amazing weddings. Once I graduated college I worked at the Georgia Aquarium in events the first year they were open, from there I went on to get married myself and have twin girls.

Once I had a grasp on motherhood I ventured out as a contract worker with a few wedding planners and DMC (destination management companies) here in Atlanta and it has given me great experience and freedom to be in events and not miss the mom life at the same time. I have been waiting for the girls to get old enough to branch out on my own and for me to feel I have enough experience and connections to make something happen on my own. So, here we are!!

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a fairly smooth road. I have taken my time to get here and have enjoyed the relationships and friendships I have made in the industry. I believe when starting a company, you need to be very open-minded and not set to high of an expectation right off the bat. It has been a wonderful learning experience (especially with technology and social media) so far.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Just About Love – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Just About Love was created off of the first letter of my girl’s names plus my own at the end, I feel we are such a tribe and it important for me to show my girls that as woman we can create our own dreams and go after them.

Just About Love or as I call it JAL is strictly a day-of coordination wedding company. We work with brides and their families who have been planning their own wedding but want to be the bride day-of. We mostly work with the bride or whoever is planning the wedding starting at 3 months prior to the event. We work closely with them to create a timeline for the wedding and coordinate all the pieces and vendors.

I am known for my experience with working with 2 top wedding planners here in Atlanta for the past 6 years. I have experience with all types of weddings, big, small, Christian, Jewish, Destination.

I am proud that JAL is established and public. I feel we have a great connection with our clients and we respect their wishes and dreams. We are not planners we are strictly coordinators.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love this city! I was born and raised here so I have seen it go through many changes. Now that I am adult I love to see all the types of businesses in Atlanta. Small boutique, markets, and home shows as well as the big shops such as the new(ish) Rodeo Drive of Buckhead, Avalon, and Battery. I see so many areas changing for the better every year.

I do not like that we do not have adequate public transportation like other metropolitan cities. We have so much growth but very little road expansions.
