Meet Lindsay Vaughn of Wild Onyx Photography in Northeast Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Vaughn.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lindsay. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Before my great grandmother passed, she gifted me an onyx necklace. She placed it in my hand and said, Lindsay, this will protect you from the negativity of the world. Onyx is more then just a stone to me it is the energy that I put forth into the world. When choosing my business name, I knew I wanted to use onyx to surround my business in positivity and to protect me as I grow. Mountains, trail chaser, dream maker, adventure seeker! I am constantly in the pursuit of pleasure while surrounding myself in bounties of nature, fresh air, beautiful landmarks, and beautiful free people! The wild is not a place it is my soul!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has not been smooth for me because I am a college student. Owning a business and going to college is incredibly difficult but I have made it possible to overcome. I give 110 percent in both areas but still feel like I have more to give.

Please tell us about Wild Onyx Photography.
I am an elopement and wedding photographer. I am known for my wedding photography. I am most proud of who I have become because of my business and clients. I have been shaped into a responsible person at a very young age because I run a business. I am set apart from others because I have an unique way of looking at wedding photography. I like to make sure my clients are comfortable throughout the whole wedding process because planning a wedding is extremely difficult and stressful. However, I like to remind my clients that I am here to capture their special day even though the stages getting to this moment are sometimes tough.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start this whole process over, I would have researched how to start a photography business instead of just going in one day and saying that I want to start a photography business. I also think that, I would have planned out more of my marketing targets before getting started so, I was not so lost in the beginning. Even though, I did not do these things, I am still satisfied with how I have grown as a business owner.
