Meet Malore’ Johnson of Imagine Eden Cakes and Cuisine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Malore’ Johnson.

Malore’, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My inspiration for sweet and savory foods started with my mother who is a former caterer and wedding cake specialist. I now serve my community as a self-taught personal Chef specializing in pescatarian meal preps. I’m a Community Certified Herbalist and a Natural Foods Activist. I have been a force in the kitchen since the age of 18 cooking for family and friends.

I found my way professionally in the culinary industry when I won the 3rd Annual Farm to Skin Challenge at IWI Fresh Garden day spa. Since then I have gone on to compete on Food Networks Christmas Cookie Challenge, Catered for Celebrity Chefs as well as food styling on TV One’s hit show Sister Circle. My love for exotic but simplistic flavors is what inspires me to show the world that you can still eat healthy without sacrificing flavor!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ha! My Journey has been far from smooth. Its been a little over 5 years of this work but I can see it starting to pay off a little more every day. But smooth has not been the move. I still work a full-time job as a buyer for a tech company so I practically have 2 jobs. I work 8 hours daily then I work on orders for clients from chocolate covered strawberries, to Healthy meal preps, making custom healing tea blends, small and large cake orders or just giving people health tips on how to incorporate more natural whole foods into their diet.

I also do popups where I go into homes mostly family’s with both working parents and show them how to use what they have and prepare meals for the week for their family instead of taking that convenient trip to a fast food restaurant. I’m a huge NON-GMO advocate and my goal is to help people to just simply start to care about what is in the food they are eating and feeding their children. I believe I am here to help move culture forward and I know we cant evolve to anything greater if we are sick! Working a full-time job and doing what I love can be a hectic schedule.

This year has been a bit of a struggle for me because my car’s transmission went out back in February and I had to move out of my home of 5 years… put me in the rear quite a bit and I didn’t have a car for a while. Luckily I have some awesome people in my life who want to see me win. I haven’t skipped a beat. I’ve had people lend their kitchens to me, their cars and their homes to help me out. On top of all of that and other life issues. It’s still tough but I’m starting to get back on my feet again plus I’m a Leo so I’m I’m a fighter!

Please tell us about Imagine Eden Cakes and Cuisine.
The name of my business is called Imagine Eden. Some good friends of mine and I are always talking about our dreams, over food of course. and in speaking to one of my girlfriends about my passion for food and how I wanted to feed the world. I started to build this vision in my head and my heart of getting back to the beginning of how we are supposed to eat Simplistic but bold flavors. My friend told me that I should name my company and she told me I would find the name in the book of Genesis. And I did! The book its self is about beginnings and Imaginations manifesting into something grand like The Garden of Eden which is described to be so beautiful!! And so it was. It was a no-brainer that would be the name of my brand.

I started off mostly specializing in cakes and dessert tables. Most people know me for my buttercream icing and banana butter cakes! Which is what my mom was also known for!

After really getting into the natural food industry and becoming a Certified Herbalist I have been more known for my health tips, plant-based meal creations and handcrafted healing tea blends. The most popular one is my Mooning Menstrual blend. I struggled with my own Cycle so I shared my story on social media of how I healed my self naturally and a lot of women wanted to know how I did it so I started to make custom blends package them up and ship them! I believe in balance so I still do sweet… I just do it plant-based, herbal infused and NON-GMO now!

I am most proud that I am sticking to something most people give up on in a week. It’s easy to say I want to start a business or to say you have a dream. A lot of people have dreams but never manifest them. Everything that we see, stand on, live in, sit in, drive in, write on, eat on, listen to…ect was all just a thought in someone’s mind before it was a reality. It all started with the imagination! I’m proud that I can freely live out what I imagine and create because that is what we are all here to do! We are all creative beings and to me, you glorify God when you actually use the gifts you were given to heal the world.

That can look like food, Tea, Art, Music, Sports, Comedy, Books, Volunteering, being a good mom, dad, sister, brother….. etc healing comes in many forms! But if we never use what we have to reach other people someone isn’t getting healed in some way shape or form. The world needs all of us to move forward and if we just use our imagination we can get back to Eden and evolve into something great and wonderful beyond our dreams!

That is what sets me apart from other people I think. I don’t do it for money, recognition, followers or anything like that, I do it because I want people to just think beyond what they can see. My brand is a command. I want people to actually Imagine Eden!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is always centered around Christmas time and food! My mom was a serious baking sister! We always made Christmas cookies and decorated them for Christmas Eve. Every year my mom would have baking sheets lined up all over the kitchen and all of them filled with every type of cookie you could imagine!

Family and friends always came over we sang Christmas carols, laughed ate lots of homemade cheese ball dip my mom’ homemade cookies and the most important dish was lasagna! We played this game where you had to guess all the ingredient in the lasagna and the winner would get a prize!

It was usually a big ole bag of peanut M&M’s but the game was fun! We still to this day always, always have lasagna for Christmas Eve dinner ALWAYS! If I’m not at home I still make it no matter what. I’m a big traditions gal and I think the food is memories so of course my childhood memories are always centered around food!
