Meet Megan Smith-Dzihic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Smith-Dzihic.

Hi Megan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing cosmetology in high school, from there I attended Athens technical college and graduated with my master’s cosmetology diploma. After school, I took a brief break when I had my daughter. I started working at a commission-based salon in Athens, Ga in 2017, and by 2019 I was ready to move on to my own space and that is when dyeartdarling was started. A few months after opening my salon suite I was accepted to become an educator for a brand I love and believe in.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Becoming a mother soon after finishing school put my career plans slightly on hold But I could never let it go. I knew what I wanted and more importantly, I knew after becoming a mother I had a whole

New reason to succeed, to show her that no matter what if you want something bad enough and work toward that goal even if it’s difficult you can accomplish anything. Covid 19 was a difficult struggle for a new business but I was fortunate enough to rebuild and push through with support of my amazing clients. We are still adapting and growing every day.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In the world of beauty, there are so many avenues to travel. Being a hairstylist, I knew I wanted to be challenged. I pushed myself toward the target client for fashion color. I now specialize in and I am known for vivid hair color. Every day being able to create true art for someone to wear proudly is an incredible experience. Being able to tap into someone’s Personality and self-expression to bring them joy is what I strive for. I work hard to ensure every single

One of my clients leaves feeling better than when they arrived and that they have a look they can be proud of

That is custom to them.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I am very fortunate to have a large group of supporters in my life. My mother, my husband, a close group of friends, and most importantly my daughter. I could not do it or be where I am without them. They have been there through blood sweat and tears as I have fought to reach goals and build this business. Always reminding me of how far I’ve come, where I am heading, and keeping me grounded. Close friends and clients have let me experiment new colors, patterns, and placements on their hair as I was learning new things to expand my skills. Family uplifted me with kind words and support in more ways than one. I am forever grateful for every single one of them.
