Meet Michael Pop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Pop.

Michael, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always loved art. My father could draw just about anything so I guess my skills came from him. I love Van Gogh, Picasso What I also really love Andy Warhol art. Most of my work is abstract art done in Acrylic paint. About four years ago I went through a very difficult divorce. I needed some kind of outlet for my pain, brokenness, anxiety and depression. I started painting for myself and slowly I’m trying to grow it into a business.

The more I painted, the more I realized how passionate I am about painting. Today I’ve had a few small showings at art festivals and I’m looking forward to the future to see where my passion for art takes me. It has also helped me with my brokenness, Anxiety and depression.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Breaking into the art world is a struggle in itself. Let’s face it, there are so many talented artists. Another struggle is coming up with new and original artwork. Getting my work out into the public limelight is probably one of the biggest struggles I’m still facing today.

We’d love to hear more about your art.
It’s just me and my artwork. I have a Facebook page where you can take a look at my art and contact me if you wish to buy some of my art. I’m currently working on setting up a website as well. I also started photography a few months ago and Joan on selling landscape fine art photography. For my photography, I have an Instagram account called @michaelpop_1 I’m also working on implementing some of my photography into my artwork paintings.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I don’t give up, no matter how many times I may fall I just get back up. I think this is an important quality to have. I believe with hard work, dedication and patience I can become a successful artist. Another quality I think I Possess is doing it because I’m passionate about art and not the Potential money I can make.
