Meet Milan Crump of LadynPink

Today we’d like to introduce you to Milan Crump.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey as an entrepreneur began in October of 2018, while at the time still working at an Early Childhood Learning Academy I worked at since 16 years old. It wasn’t until my last year working there that I realized I wanted more out of life. I thought my passion was Early Childhood Education but it wasn’t. During my time at the learning academy, I worked closely with two and three-year-olds, as I look back now they taught me so much about life and myself. At that age, the word “NO” and “FEAR” means absolutely nothing, whatever you set your mind to, you accomplish no matter the consequences. I noticed as we get older the word no and fear, stop us from living at times because we’re afraid of all the things that could go wrong, rather than focusing on succeeding at whatever it is we want to do.

One day during nap time, I sat and thought to myself, “what am I really passionate about”, and then it hit me. Since a little girl, the only two things that I have always cared about more than anything in the world is being a Lady and the color pink. At that very moment, I knew that I discovered my passion; I didn’t have to think twice or second guess my decision. Although I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with LadynPink at the time, I knew I was on the right path.

In the beginning, I was going to start off by selling weave because of an Instagram ad I ran across that talked about how much money that is in the hair business, but later I discovered I really didn’t care too much about that. My very first product was two t-shirts with empowering quotes on them. Once, I got my first shipment of shirts, I arranged a photoshoot with my friends, created/designed my own website and launched LadynPink on February 2, 2018! Now here I am today, in 2019 a year in business and have made more money than I could’ve imagined.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. My first four months in business was definitely a learning experience. Between dealing with grimy vendors and not knowing the slightest clue or idea of how to run a business I often felt defeated at times. In the beginning, I did everything myself, marketing, website maintenance, social media, customer support, logistics and so much more. I had to learn so much in so little time, but as I look back now, I’m very grateful for all the research I had to do because if I didn’t, I’m pretty sure I would’ve been out of business a long time ago.

After my first bad incident with a vendor, I decided I needed to print my shirts myself. I researched equipment and pricing and was able to purchase my own equipment by that April, one of the best investments I could have ever made for my business! I’m so glad that I’m a “get it done myself” type of Lady. Little did I know at the time, that I wouldn’t just be making shirts for myself but for other business owners as well!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
LadynPink is a lifestyle brand dedicated to empowering the modern “lady”. To us being a lady means having class: a quintessence which comes in numerous forms depending on the woman. This brand was created to uplift women and compel them to feel like LADIES: classy, confident and powerful. We were put here to be our best selves; which is why I want every woman who is reached by this brand to feel like a lady, and in turn, she can share her knowledge, experience, and love with every woman she has the chance to influence.

We offer clothing with empowering and motivational statements on them and we also offer customized clothing for other businesses as well to purchase wholesale or just for themselves. This year we’ve also added our first uni-sex line – The Millionaire Collection! We’re different from other brands because we want to see ladies and men win in life. We pride ourselves on providing affordable and quality clothing along with great service for our customers and other businesses.
