Meet Morgan Kelly of Olivia’s Nectar in Fulton County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Kelly.

Morgan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always had a passion for my natural hair, but my journey really took off once I gave birth to my daughter, and splitting with my fiance in 2019, life was not going the way I had imaged it, and it really started a fire inside of me to take charge of my life, but a little after my daughter turned 6 Months I noticed how her hair would grow, but then her hair would fall out an alarming rate, and after a doctors appointment they did confirm that she, unfortunately, had Alopecia. I was so confused, and none of the prescribed medicines, and over the counter medicine didn’t work; it led me to start researching her condition in more depth. Here is where Olivia’s Nectar was born. After researching natural remedies and organic roots, and vitamins day and night. I started experimenting in my kitchen.

After a lot of trial and error, I finally formulated a growth oil that I was ready to put to the test. I started applying the growth oil day and night to her hair, and low and behold her hair started GROWING! It was nothing like I have ever seen. I started taking progress pictures, and it confirmed just how much the oil was making her not only grow, but it was growing back thick. After watching her progress for months, I decided I needed to share this with the world. I then went into research mode again, and started formulating my own vegan natural hair products like Deep Conditioner, Leave-In Conditioner, Shampoo, and a hair Moisturizer, which included real fruit extracts, vitamins, natural plant roots, organic oils and butters. It took me about a year to make sure I perfected the formula just right for the public, but once I launched, people were supporting and getting the same results. Fast forward a few months, I am about to launch my second hair collection called Lavender and Rosemary. I would not be where I am today without my community, friends, family, and most of all, the natural hair community. I know that this is only the beginning and I can not wait until more people find out about Olivia’s Nectar. I want to change people’s lives one jar at a time.

Has it been a smooth road?
Oh no, This journey has been beautiful, but it has been nothing but bumps in the road. It started off really rough because I had no help figuring out the formulas, the business side of things, or just someone there to tell me to keep going during those stressful long nights. Some struggles I have ran into was mostly the money side of things to start the business. Being a single mother of two my money is closely watched lol, so going into this business, I’ve had to think of some creative ways to get more funding for the business, like taking on another job, overtime or offering my services to help others.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Olivia’s Nectar story. Tell us more about the business.

We will take back our industry, and not allow people to make hair products for us that they have no experience in.
