Meet Na’Deja Brantley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Na’Deja Brantley.

Na’Deja, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my business at the beginning of this year in January 2020. It all started with me participating in three art shows called the Trap Art. One was in Memphis, TN, Nashville, TN, and Atlanta. I designed my first two t-shirt designs for all three shows for people to purchase them. After those three shows, I got a lot of comments on how people really like my t-shirt designs. So, I decided to continue designing t-shirts, while also doing Graphic design services as well. I was inspired by the word envy, but instead I used my first and last letter of my name and came up with NBee Arts instead. So that’s how I started my business.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It started out as a smooth road at first because I paid someone to print my shirts. After that, I decided to print out my own t-shirts for now on, I ended up purchasing all of what I thought I needed to get started, but along the way I learned that it was more to running a t-shirt business, and it was more stuff that I needed to purchase in order to full-fill those designs as I came up with my third t-shirt design. I found out that I needed certain t-shirt printing paper and a specific type of printer as well.

NBee Arts – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business is called NBee Arts. It is a Graphic service/T-shirt business company. I take on different clients/projects for whatever the client may need, such as logos, flyers, business cards, banners, posters, etc. At the same time, I also have created my own t-shirt brand as well, where I come up with my own designs and I print them on shirt and sell them for a profit. My business is mainly known for providing the graphic design services for my clients. I’m so very proud that my company has been getting a lot of business within the graphic world. Every week there are new client and new projects so that means that my company is slowly growing and that my name is floating amongst social media. So, I am very proud of what my business has become this year compared to last year.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory was when I was in the 5th grade, and we had a program celebrating our school’s 50th birthday. I was a part of the program and I had a skit to say, not knowing that news reporters from the commercial appeal was there, So the next couple of days, my principal showed me the article about our school’s program with me being the head photo for the article.
