Today we’d like to introduce you to Narcisa Maura.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started on 2222 Vanderveer Place the cutest little block tucked away from the busyness of Brooklyn, NY. On that cute block in the yellow house marked 2222 was a busy bee herself named Narcisa. I like to say I came out of my mother’s womb dancing, posing, and having fun from day one. As a child, I always had a love for being the life of the party, taking pics with my priceless hand on my hip pose, and writing in my journal. Who would have thought I’d grow up to do just about the exact same things on a broader scale. Surely not me! I spent my entire life in the Big Apple and afterlife changes I decided to head down South. I’m currently living and loving this Lowcountry life here in Charleston, SC. By day I’m a Computer Lab Teacher and by night a Lifestyle blogger, model, and influencer. My blog is my brand, business, and my baby. The Narcisa Maura Lifestyle Blog is my place where I get to share the parts of me most may or may not see. I’ve been blogging for well over seven years and have worked with amazing brands and photographers.
Once a month I host brunch meetups for the Gals That Brunch Charleston chapter, I started a little over a year ago and it’s constantly growing. In 2019, I was crowned “Leading Lady of Charleston” and featured on Charleston’s top local news for my crowning and dedication in the community. All in all, I like to have fun, meet new people, and enjoy life’s priceless moments. My life motto is to Grow and Glow because in the midst of tears, pain, and heartbreak I made my choice to do just that. I didn’t allow my situation to dictate my future but instead I decided to grow through the situation inside and out. I rebranded my blog, refocused my vision, and adjusted my crown. Today I’ve come this far because of my resilience and dedication to always Grow and Glow!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have definitely been struggles along this journey from being a full-time blogger to just the challenges we face in life. As a blogger sometimes we tend to look at other bloggers and compare ourselves. I’ve been guilty of that and feeling like I’m not doing enough or making an impact. The biggest struggle I faced in the midst of this blogging journey was my divorce which showed me who I was. This struggle was what birthed my rebrand and my motto to Grow and Glow!! I made it my decision and daily confession to be BETTER not BITTER! Amongst other confessions as well. I’m happy to say that I truly am BETTER mentally, physically, and spiritually. Struggles strengthen us!!
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m known for my blog Narcisa Maura and my bubbly fun personality. My blog has opened so many doors for me over the past few years. Outside of blogging I’m also known for the girl on the dance floor that loves Afrobeats!! In 2019 I was crowned Leading Lady of Charleston which is another name I’m known for and I’m honored to hold the title. What makes me different is my creative flair, optimistic outlook, and willingness to share life’s moments with the world. I wholeheartedly enjoy creating content and connecting with people on and off of social media. I also make it my duty to stay on top of my game and continue to go hard and blog harder!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I’ve learned from every struggle and every triumph. Life is a continuous learning lesson and if I altered anything I may alter the result. As of now, I’m loving the results and enjoying each moment.
